"Will F8X Components Fit E9X? Including Wheels, Seats, and Steering Wheel..."
Hello,
After a few years of reading on and off, I'm finally making my first post here. I've cherished my E90 M3 for the past three years, and it's been a fantastic ride. It's pretty much stock, except for a few upgrades like a better radiator and braided brake lines. I'm curious if anyone has tried fitting certain components from the F8X M series into their E9X. Specifically, I'm interested in the seats and steering wheel. One potential challenge I see is that the F8X has electronic steering, while the E9X uses hydraulic. Additionally, I'm wondering if it's possible to retrofit the cooled seat function. I believe these upgrades could significantly enhance the interior's aesthetics and overall feel. Looking forward to your insights and advice. |

F80 did not come with a ventilated seat option, the f83 had a neck warmer but that was about it. The F80 seats in general can be installed into an E-Series car, same for the steering wheel. The servotronic in the m3 rules out the need for an electric steering rack on the e90.

Front seats are direct bolt on with a little re-pinning and the rear just needs a bracket kit. Fold down works without issue. I retrofitted the arm rest as well using an E9X arm rest base plate.
