this sucks to hear. i know in the E46 days the fitment was horrible so that is why i searched and searched and finally got an OEM CSL trunk. but like you said now there are no other options. i figured by now they would of had the fitment issues solved considering they charge a pretty hefty price for it compared to what it used to be in the E46 days.
i was planning on getting one bc i love the look of the CSL trunk but i am anal with fitment of things on my car and i won't shell out that kind of money for a sub par part damn i was looking forward to getting one of these. oh well. thanks for the info H Quote:

the trunk doesn't exactly fit and the holes for the bolts and lock are off. it was pretty hard to get the trunk fitted. it looks good, but the fitment is pretty off compare to the oem trunk.

yeah that is the kinda stuff that pisses me off. if they still charged cheap prices like they did when they came out with them for the E46 then fine but now that these things are expensive there should be no excuse for fitment issues like that. either lower the price to where it used to be if it is gonna be a sub par part or fix the issues if your gonna charge a premium its that simple
my oem csl trunk fit like butter and i would see guys with the aftermarket ones and you could tell it was not oem, no matter what they did to it i heard they got better with fitment but i guess it still has a way to go

Diffusor Issues
I picked up an E-90 diffusor through Redline last September. Had to get a replacement cause the original didn't fit on the passenger side & had major gaps. The replacement I put on in March (garaged during Winter) fit better, but now the clear went cloudy & dull. Been trying to get a response for three weeks, but I'm told they didn't reply to Redline. I originally attempted to contact them direct through e-mail, but they replied telling me to go through the distributor. So now I wait....
I've seen other Vorsteiner diffusors that look & fit great. Seems hit & miss - Here's a picture of the firsts lousy fit & seconds cloudy clear - Last edited by Moxie; 06-27-2010 at 08:53 AM.. |

I have found their products are hit and miss sometimes. I have had to have a CSL trunk and engine cover replaced for my e46 M3. I was not happy about it, but I will say, they replaced the pieces and did make the situation right pretty quickly for me.

They want me to send them my diffusor so they can look @ it to decide if they'll send a replacement. I'll miss it, even if it is dull as a bone.

They sent me another diffusor that arrived today w/o having me send the old one back It looks great, but I haven't checked fitment & won't anytime soon cause we're going on a trip for a few weeks. Their customer service is great, but you have to be relentless - |
