I'd be more worried buying a car from a person who never revved the car past 5k rpm.

Wonder if they'd ever sell Paul Walker's Supercharged Gintani E92 M3? Would go for quite a bit now, I assume.
RIP Paul

People worry too much.
Considering Tyler McQuarrie's relationship through working with Platte Forme a.g.'s racing program he probably knows a thing or two about taking care of a BMW. Just saying. Its not how you drive it, its how you maintain it. OP enjoy your car

As long as the car is properly maintained, I really don't see how driving a car hard is bad for the car. You just accelerate the maintenance. Change oil, brake pads, fluids, tires more often is all.
There is a fine line between abuse and driving hard. I wouldn't count drifting as abuse unless you hit a wall or something.

Car looks great OP...great find!
I am guessing most M3s bought used were dogged at one point or another ...I wonder what is better?.... A professional dogging or a snot nosed rich kid doing donuts half drunk in a parking lot dogging? I am guessing the professional dogging - since he also maintained it correctly... |

Stumbled on Mcquarrie's race at the 25hr of thunderhill raceway piloting a 911 GT3.

Once you have raced professionally and drifted at the level he has, i think even an M3 he would not get the same sort of satisfaction from, so more then likely enjoyed but not thrashed.
Ive been drifting on the track since 2001, you CANNOT get the same buzz from on the street.

lulz - i cringed everytime i hit a bump on these 20s and pray it didn't bend. These are meant for cruising, impressing the ladies in front of the club.
I ditched the 20s and went through a few progression with some 18s.
