Really? It looks like a lower-half rear bumper to me due to the line in the middle. Confirmation?

The E92 Type II diffuser is designed for the OEM non sport bumper. It is the lower section of the rear bumper that is simply attached to the original bumper using double sided tape and screws.

This is not a product application for the E92 M3.

Overall all looks great.

Are these purely cosmetic upgrades? What impact to they have to aerodynamics / downforce etc.

Vorsteiner components are designed with both aesthetic and aerodynamic properties so they will influence both Mainly with the addition of downforce to the vehicle to improve high speed stability.

Could you tell us the trick on how you covered the portion of the boot lid you left in CF? PM me if you like!

Our customers who have this setup order the single sided version and mask off the part they want exposed. You can then paint the rest of the boot and peel off the tape to have the exposed CF. Another cool effect is to fade the CF into the paint, especially along the tail.

Yes, I've seen both of these effects and like them both. I did order the sigle sided version, but do we have to "prepare" the CF areas where we´re going to paint AW. That is, do we us a solvent or something to take the gloss out of the CF and then prime and paint over that?

MV Designs just finished painting mine. I think I will pick it up tomorrow. I'll ask Mike the questions and also try to take some pictures. Hang in there.

You prep the CF areas just like any other body part surface. You will need to sand, primer and paint.

I just picked up my trunk from MV Designs, I highly recommend his work if you are in SoCal. Mike was on that show Ridez where he was one of the 2 guys building the show cars for Alpine. Now he works on cars for SEMA. Mike told me that they sand the trunk down and then use clear as a primer so that you can still see the part in CF. He said the Vorsteiner part is very good quality as it's not wavy like a lot of the CF parts he works with are. There was no Bondo used at all which is a testament to the quality of the Vorsteiner part.

The idea was to keep the car from looking too five-o. We decided to go with a fade and expose just the small section of the trunk edge, he talked me out of leaving the license plate area exposed and I'm happy with the results. I had him paint the underside of my trunk as well.

I haven't put it on the car yet but here are some pix. Can't wait to put it on

Any thought of doing a shark fin antenna housing to match the CFRP roof?

That may be tough since even if the CF is 1x1 weave etc… it is from a different cut and will look different so close to the roof. CF from the same manufacturer made a different day looks a bit different. This is why reputable CF manufacturers charge so much for their CF products, they are all made from the same “cut” so to speak in order to keep it identical.

@ Vorsteiner: can i criticize the rear diffuser?? im only itching to say this coz i really really love it, but there's one thing that bugs me about it. is there a way we can have the edges on the sides not go up so high? it looks like it's smiling. i love the diffuser a lot, it's just that one little thing that is throwing me off
