Looks like eBay BMW Morristown's got the best deal on the F10 M5 knob.

Appreciate the discussion!

Anybody want to part with their OEM shift knob/boot? I want a spare one to experiment with, so even one with a lot of wear and tear is fine. PM me.

Edit: would like to have the OEM base ring too, if possible.

FYI, I was able to sell my stock shift knob and shift boot for $75 shipped on eBay. Cut my upgrade cost in half.

M5 knob is indeed weighted. Even going into the F80 M3/4, feels like the knob is way too high and the throws seem longer by virtue. Lower knob seems much more ergonomic to me.

Don't get the orange light "pollution"....BMWs always had that lighting in an understated way and gave much more of a "cockpit" feel.

I just ordered mine from ECS and will install in spring. I feel like I should have done this particular mod a long time ago.

Doesn't light up. It's a short slimmer alcantara knob with CF insert.
