The sedan tail lights are ugly imo. The coupe's tail lights during daylight are nicely shaped, not radical but if you look at the actual tail light itself like the signal part, looks rather cheap. Maybe this leaves room for a "rear tail light facelift."
The coupes tail lights at night are much better than the sedans. It makes the coupe look wider than it really is from the rear. |

The coupe looks faster.
The chunky rear of the sedan just looks more like, well, a sedan. Yes, the M3 E90 with the flairs looks meaner than the 335. The coupe just looks so sleek and fast. The sedan looks like it would struggle around curves judging it from the rear, even though I know that is only looks and it will perform just as well. I think most of the best looking GTs are coupes with many of them weighing in above the M3. Almost all of my "best looks" picks from Wikipedia's examples of GTs would have only two doors and could not imagine them with four. If I go that way, I will not regret admiring the beauty of the M3 coupes that drive by. |

I really can't decide. I assumed I would get the sedan but the coupe does look nice from the side, and I don't really need 4 doors. Not sure what the hangup is with the taillights though, I won't be looking at them. In fact on the outside of the car anything from the hood back shouldn't really matter to me!
Still can't make a decision though.

I know people are waiting for the vert, but I wonder who in the US would buy an E91 M3. Do you think they'll make that and bring it to the US?

Just looked at the Coupe and Sedan side by side. My expectation is to purchase the sedan based on practicality but I thought the coupe was significantly better looking in pictures. I was surprised that in person I don't really think the coupe looks much better. I'm certainly not going to say the sedan looks 'better' but it definately holds it's own. Helped me to confirm that the sedan is the right choice for me.

I think the coupe is sexy as hell....sedan not so much. Sedan does like nice though in SilverStone- just saw it at the NY Auto Show- convertible by the way is gorgeous.

To me, the coupe is much more aggressive looking. I mean we are talking about a sports car here. I don't remember the last time Ferrari or Lambo came out with a 4 door. I guess the peolpe trying to justify this whole 4 door thing, must have a wife and kids distorting their version of reality.

No, it's the drunk friends climbing over the front seats and tearing them up vs. using their own doors.

thats what makes the sedan so special. its a sedan that will run with the best of them. the sedan definitely looks more agressive and mean like its going to kick your ass. althought the coupe looks more sleek. i like both but like the badassness of the sedan more. |

I said it before and I will say it again... you either are a coupe or a sedan lover at heart - 2 doors or 4? Reading this thread helps support this argument. There is no wrong, just personal preference. I will bow my head to either on the road, with a smile.
