G8x carbon bucket retrofit

I have seen F8x seats retrofitted into the e9x.
Does anyone know if the G8x carbon bucket will fit into a e92?

I have been looking at seating options and think the carbon bucket would meet all my criteria.

TIA

I'm sure it's possible but I haven't seen it yet since there's better options for bucket seats for the price. Do you have a source for the G8x bucket seats?

Buy them and try it.

What's the worse that can happen.

A very expensive street seat conversion doesn’t seem like a track topic.

I’ve driven the G82 at the Performance center and it held me in place quite well. I’m looking for a better seat than the original OEM seat while maintaining some OEM functionality (side airbags / side impact protection) to make for a better dual duty car. I only do 6-7 track events per year and I’m not interested in a full bucket for the 95% of usage in the street. I’d rather spend the money on the carbon bucket from BMW than a set of Recaro Sportster’s honestly, but to each their own.
I’ve seen these pop up on eBay regularly requiring minimal TLC for $9-10k for a set.

Maybe I’ll reach out to a coder to make sure that all OE functionality can be retained.

They did it to the F8x, so whatever compatibility issues we have with E9x (seat modules and buckle differences most likely) will be transferrable.

Recaro sportsters + side airbags would do similar purpose but do not have height adjustment like OEM. Recaro also just announced the Sport-C which is the aftermarket version of the G8x seat. It doesn't have the middle bulge and looks like the rear headrest is non-removable for helmets.

I did the f80 conversion in my car two weeks ago, mainly for lower seating position. Everything works, got about 1-1.5 inches lower, keeps you in the seat much better than e90 seats and much firmer. Only downside is you can't use a harness with those like the g80 bucket seats, but they look nice in the car and not out of place. Works for me since my E90 is a dual purpose with maybe 10 track days per year and weekend spirited driving.

Did you swap the seat modules and seatbelt reels?

Yeah, the biggest bummer of the F8x seats is the lack of harness option. Currently I'm running quickfit pro that has provided me with head restraint and securing me in place. The G8x seats would be an awesome addition or the Recaro Sport C seats.
