Why would they take the back seats out?
So the rear 2 doors open up to what?
Even the E46 CSL had rear seats, and it was a coupe.

I'm guessing a lightweight rear seat option will be the go.
Performance seats up front would be nice.
CF all around.
Performance exhaust (although not the case on the blue example)
The usual thinner glass.
Remove a/c, nav, idrive etc etc

M-GmbH quotes about this car, that it would be an near perfect combination between an daily driver and family car and an race track toy like the GTS ... an really "all-in-one"!

So I donīt think, they would remove necessary things like the rear seats or a/c. With Nav and idrive you would be right ( if needed you can use an mobile nav-unit without loose of comfort! )... they quotet this concept also as intelligent LightWeight ... so they would save weight by removing only this parts that are not necessary for daily driving comfort ... and save weight in parts that are necessary.
I also think that they would use carbon at all possible car panels like hood, roof, trunk and the 4 doors ... plus an (lighter?)version of the performence seats in front and an lightweight backseatsytem with integratet headrests ... better and lightweight brakes ... an lightweight exhaust-system made of Inconel or Titan ... etc etc.

Interlagos can indeed look like a dark blue when lighting is sufficiently low or indirect. That said, I am neutral on whether this really is IB. It could just as easily be something else from what I've seen.

I have a strange feeling that this is a study in using Carbon Fiber for the panels of the car.
I agree. My guess is that it has a CF roof, hood, doors, and trunk. The fenders are probably still steel. I'll bet the car doesn't weigh much less than a GTS if at all, but my hunch is that unlike the GTS, it will retain seating for more than two (hence why they used a sedan - to emphasize that it retains full utility).

Interested to see what they have replaced.

Not on the sedan. I had made the same mistake at first, but changed my post when I remembered we were talking about a sedan.

By the way, only the front fenders are plastic for E92s and E93, not the rears.

All E92/E93 3 series and M3 have plastic front fenders. All E90/E91 3 series and M3 have steel front fenders.

His is not the only one - mine also has plastic front fenders. Almost broke mine when installing my matter black sidemarkers.

Moving on, please...

M3 fenders

Whereas the normal coupes and sedans have different front ends, all M3s share the same front-end with widened plastic fenders adapted from the standard coupe. This allowed BMW to avoid the cost of developing a second front end for the M3 sedan.

scott26 was recently quoted as saying that this color is Interlagos Blue but WITHOUT the metallic flake.

Hey, if I am wrong, I am wrong. But I cannot find a single official reference to this anywhere. I am positive I am correct about all E92/E93 M3 and 3 series having plastic fenders, while E90/E91 3 series do not. Absolutely 100% sure on that. If they decided to do the E90 M3 fenders in plastic too, well, they sure didn't brag about it. But that's cool that they did.

Anyway, I still think the fenders on this LTW will remain same as the stock M3 (not CF).

Simply because it make no sence to make the plastic fenders in carbon ... the weight savings were minimal !!!
