M3 or 1M
Whats up boys and girls? The time has come to purchase a new toy. Long story short I had a 2010 E93 after that I purchased a 2011 750LI M still have the car and loving it. I\'m now wanting to buy a second car as a daily and I\'m debating between a 2012 E92 or 2011 1M. Any opinions would be much help.

Aren't the allocations for the 1M all gone?

Don't listen to the haters. The "chick car" comments come from insecurity as the car looks nothing of that sort. What is the markup for the one available? It must be highly overpriced for it to be still available. I'd take the 1M at MSRP, but not for the crazy markup the dealers have been pushing.

Personally, I'd go for the M3 over the 1M. The M3 will be a better DD because of its longer wheelbase and more interior room (especially in the pedal area - IMO the 1M is cramped and the pedals are offset from the seat/steering wheel which makes it uncomfortable on a long commute).

M fan
Hi guys im from new, S. Florida and own 09 M3 with some mods. Im also contemplating of trading my M3 for a 1M, but really 10-15k over sticker and a smaller car. It can be very fast with about 7k in mods, close to 500 whp. But i know in 2 yrs 2M is coming out with the same spec and if not better than the 1M of current. I feel like its a downgrade if i switch to a 1M.
Guys i would really appreciate some advice, and i dont know what to do. I love my M3 and it handles awesome, but the 1m is also nice, but 10k over the sticker i dont know? plus its a newer car. What i hate about the E92 m3 very little torque. |

Re; M3 or 1M best solution would be driving both (don't know if you can fine a 1M to drive) or ask the fellows in the 1M forum. James Kirk (make a search) has written a good comparison between the M3 and the 1M. I found his comparison ====> CLICK HERE TO READ MHO is ... once the e9x production is done you will not see another M3 like it ... so for my money I would get the M3 and hold on to it for a spell.

To OP: The problem with the 1M is at this point, you are going to end up paying too much for it and take a bath on it when it comes time to sell or get rid of it. I bet you would love a 1M, a little Dinan tune to keep it honest...could be a very hot ride. |
