For those who are looking, it looks like no one makes the EGR covers anymore. The closest was Future Classic, but they discontinued it seems and BMW Motorsports stop making them.

So here's what works:
You'll need
2qty 11121438086 (no thread for the head shields, you'll need to fab a bracket)
2qty 11727838389
2 intake caps 8298015, which you can contact Leddy Motorsports (takes 7-9 days)

Most tune shops won't advertise that they can tune SAP out.

FC's Plates with threads for the heatshield, we might need to bug them to make more:

I've used them all, the Innova is my favorite. There are cheaper and slower ones that they sell, and other really good ones. I would not use a generic tool to begin with for specific factory functions but compared to the other generic tools out there I prefer the innova.

OP, not trying to thread jack but everyone reading this seems to have a similar issue. I’ve been having misfires and burning through o2 sensors like crazy. I’ve replaced every component I can think of apart from the SAP valves. My car is tuned and the SAP is disabled but it’s still not running right. I didn’t want to replace the SAP valves with new ones and run into the same issue later on when they’re not necessary for my application. I have finalized designs for a GT4 block off replica. I was going to have a set CNC machined for myself but if there’s some interest I’d be more than happy to have a few extra sets made up. If anyone is interested shoot me a pm.

Looks nice! How does it differ from the usual block off plates and gaskets? I see there's an extra bolt hole there - what's that for?

I believe there is a piece of heat shielding that is held in place with the EGR valve. The bmw Motorsport EGR block offs also have the same spur with threaded hole.

Do you have a source for any of the usual block of plates?

Thanks - Ordered. I had tried to order from these guys a while back without success. But looks like it worked.

Good to know.

What was the cost? I'm assuming they don't have a direct link to purchase, but rather we should reach out to them to sell separately, correct?

Pat

FYI, if you use a tune with SAP delete you must leave the relay and sensor plugged in. Tune cannot "delete" SAP (at least not consumer grade tunes), it can change parameters far enough where the ECU won't throw a hiccup. However, the sensor and relay need to be plugged in.

I've completely removed my sensor, pump and relay, without any CEL issues.

The only thing I'm waiting on is some fancy brackets so i can remove the valves

I just walked into my local dealer that I have a wholesale account with.

The one motorsports block off plate had five left in stock and the other side had seven in stock.

I ordered five of each. I will let you know if my order gets canceled.

Only read the 1st page, didn't see a real answer there.
I'm just curious as to why you would want to delete the air injection? (as far as road use goes, surely it's a miniscule weight saving?)

In regions where the cars see a lot of cold weather the valves eventually rust and fail open or closed causing all sorts of malfunction errors and depending on the car can cost upwards of 2500 dollars to repair. They’ve been nothing but money printing devices on Subarus for example since they were implemented on the wrx platform back in 2007. Just about every turbocharged Subaru in the rust/snow belt will have to have them serviced at some point. Since they’re an emissions related item we’re locked into having to run them now.

I used to delete them and code out the cold start/CEL because I had a couple valves fail. Yes I understand their purpose and no I wouldn’t do it for the weight savings. But I have seen the aftermath of a valve failing open, luckily mine failed closed. But I’ll be damned if I’m going to shell out 2500 bucks every time one of those things fails; something only active for the first minute my engine is running. Cars ran just fine without that bullshit in the past. Just took longer for the cats to come up to temp and yeah afr isn’t as accurate until then. Just my opinion and I don’t recommend anyone circumventing emissions related items. But I hate SAP/SAI systems on any platform. These cars have enough electrical failure points already.

My wallet is almost $1,000 lighter but:

I have four sets of the OEM block off plates and the OEM gaskets.

These are the last parts on earth. If anyone wants a set I am going to sell them for $200 a set.
