Thanks, the tips are Titanium and literally wrap around the stock ones. Got them from Auto Couture Motoring in North Jersey.

I got my performance wheel from Mark at Pacific BMW. He'll hook you up with a great deal.

To set the record straight, here's the quote from Tischer's site. The V2 wheel isn't bigger in diameter to the M3 wheel. It's the same. This might have been the case with the V1 Alcantara wheel.

OEM BMW M Performance Steering Wheel
OEM BMW M Performance Steering Wheel. Sporty steering wheel made from Alcantara based on the M3 sports steering wheel. The diameter and cross-section are identical to the M3 standard steering wheel. Steering wheel rim flattened at the bottom, 3-color M seam and motorsports blue central marking in fulled nappa leather. Alcantara over the entire steering wheel rim offers an excellent grip in extreme driving situations. Attractive design with flattened steering wheel rim and central marking at the 12 o'clock position for that racing sports feel. *Your stock M3 steering wheel multifunction trim, airbag, and dct paddles (if applicable) transfer over. **Vehicles with heated steering wheel function will have this function disabled.

I really have no interest in taking pleasure away from a great mod, and that is not my intent (which is why I chose not to rebut your original reply). Hell, this steering wheel is on my short list of mods I am seriously considering in the future.

But you cannot flatten out the bottom of the wheel while using the same cross section without forcing the areas around the 5 o'clock and 7 o'clock to flare out compared to the stock wheel. The difference might be negligible, but it should be there all the same. To retain the same diameter of the stock wheel while adding a flat bottom, BMW would have had to create a new cross section with a shorter overall height, which they did not.

Again, this is a beautiful wheel and you should enjoy it good health.

No worries brotha, didn't see your comment that way at all. I thought the same thing and then saw this desc. on Tischer's website, random...who knows, marketing mumbo jumbo I guess.....

but just for fun I took this picture because now I was curious to find out, seems to be the same diameter, but if it isn't, it's not noticeable to the human eye or when you grip it.

Hmm. Well, you would know better than I, as you actually have both wheels. I'm definitely interested in holding this wheel in person and seeing what's up.
