BMW Performance Electronic Steering Wheel 2 installed

I thought i would make a quick video of the BMW Performance Electronic Steering Wheel Version 2 that we just installed on an BMW M3 E92 DCT. Personally i like the flat bottom steering wheel, the layout of the data and the way it displays rpm in the lower section. I think it shows a more modern feel to this interior over the V1

I had mine installed yesterday and now I am receiving a DCS malfunction and DBS errors on the Nav. Do you think I missed something?

I had the 1st version in my 135i and absolutely loved the wheel. I have been hesitant with this wheel solely because there is something about that plastic piece with 4 screws holding it on there that I just don't like. The display is much better than the old one, but I really liked how the lights and display were inset into the actual steering wheel on the previous version.

My only other gripe is for the M3, I wish it had the tri-colored stitching. That would be an easy fix to have this thing wrapped in nappa leather with the tri-color stitching.

The tri-color stitching would be cool, but every stitched part in the BMW Performance line is with white stitching (and black alcantara) which I like in itself as well.

If your interested, here is a video i did a while back with a V1 Electronic steering wheel. The Wheel part starts at 2.35. Again i turned down the settings so the lights came on earlier in the rev range.
I also have V1 in my 135i.

I tired to clear the codes, however when I plugin the reader it tells me that there are no codes. However on the nav I have a DSC DBS and start up malfunctions.

Does anyone know what this could possibly be?

Sometimes the codes all disappear for 10-30 seconds when I am driving straight.

The nav shows, dsc, dbs, malfunction and startup inactive. When I plugin in to check the codes, it shows that there is no codes currently. I tried to erase and I get the same message, no codes. The place that installed this also told me that the wheel came with some extra cable that they did not know what is it for. Is this true or did they mess it up?

My wheel is currently being installed at the dealer. I doubt BMW would send anything extra in the install pack, especially a cable. Mine did not come with an install instructions, but the dealer said when he downloaded it off of BMW servers that is was very precise and really did not have any extra parts that were not needed. So I would presume that the cable they left off was probably important to the system. Just my $.02

I would take it to the dealer, have them clear the codes. That normally will do the trick unless they did something during the install.

How is that different from plugging in a OBD reader myself?

the extra cable most likely in the infared for track use. It's not on the PDF instructions either.
