Performed a coolant flush over the weekend to prep for my next track day scheduled for October 2nd at Sebring. Car should be all set w/ new brake kit (rotors, calipers, pads, fluid), new tires, new power steering reservoir/fluid, and now new coolant and hardware. Last thing I'm going to do is an air filter recharge for the hell of it.
Went with something like a 70/30 mix of water to coolant as I'm in Florida and we never see freezing temps and if we do I'm not driving in them. Performed an initial flush, filled back with distilled water only, ran the car/heater for 10 min then drained again filling once more with the 70/30 mix. Replaced the coolant drain plug w/ a brass one and the breather screw with a titanium one. Both are common failure points so it was an easy 'while you're in there' item. I also cleaned and coated the felt underbody liner while they were out. They're in pretty good shape all things considered, figured I'd touch them up before eventually replacing w/ one of the aluminum options out there. Waxed the intake/plenum while in there too Car is looking STOUT right now. Almost don't want to get it all dirty again on the track. Almost..

It's Florida, why not run 90:10 water? Careful with the titanium and brass plugs. While they're failure points it's also metal on plastic threads… Best just having a couple spares on hand.
Enjoy your track day!

Took the car out for a Sunday morning rip and a coffee pit stop at a local joint made from a converted gas station. Weather finally hinting of cooling down.
Unfortunately my Sebring track day got cancelled due to this lovely hurricane headed our way. Will have to check dates later in the year and see what I can book.

Went out to a BMW CCA Suncoast meet up this weekend at Fort Desoto Park for a barbeque and car show. Was a nice event with great weather and a good turnout. Ended up winning second place for people's choice best in show.
One of the last S54 Z4s. The red interior was immaculate especially for a convertible. Only 26k miles. Convertible M6. I'm not a vert guy but that v10 with the top down has to be a dream OG M V8 This thing was pretty beat up but the design is timeless and the wheels work so well Absolutely decked out G80 M3. Not sure there is another part he could buy for it

The weather has been so great lately. For some reason the cooler weather makes me appreciate/want to drive the car even more.
Took the car for a little weekend cruise to an old diner/shop.

Haven't had a whole lot to update.
Needed to replace my cabin filters so I went with the BMS cowl filters. I ran these on my 335 and like them. On that platform it actually removes the entire cowl for some decent weight savings and cabin noise increase. Here it really just removes the two plastic cabin filter housings. Still cleans up the engine bay a bit I think. Cabin noise may be a bit louder? Tough to really tell. Right now I have the hood sensor taped down until I find a cleaner solution. Unfortunately I cracked the shit out of my GTS lip on a curb while rushing for no reason...ugh. Unfortunately word on the street is that 360carbon doesn't have the mold anymore and the one's they're making have pretty bad fitment. Can't confirm this but would rather not spend $700 just to find out. Waiting on a ********** GTS rep to come available. Until then I'm just driving around with a fat lip

The original paint matched license mount would look much better than those holes!

Also going to replace the windshield - it's got a chip and is sandblasted to hell Lastly, going to polish, refresh, and PPF the headlight lenses

Some vehicle updates and recent pictures.
I finally got sick enough of looking at the beat up front end and did go ahead and order a new euro front bumper from Aeroplug. It seems like they have a good product without the weird tow hook dimple issue of the alternate brands. Bumper was only $500 + $200 in shipping costs. $700 total is not a bad buy. I already have the replacement GTS rep lip waiting and will just need to work on finding local shop to do the best paint match possible. Recently: I also upgraded my 2014 F-150 to a new 2023 F-150 Powerboost. Never really considered a hybrid truck but it was the only model they had in the spec I wanted and honestly I love it. I do occasionally miss the 5.0 V8 from the old truck but really everything is better on this one. Old Horse: New Horse: Old vs New Interior: Lastly, kind of a fun one - my brother got one of the Foundation Edition Cybertrucks. Thing is insane. The looks it gets when driving around are hilarious:

A couple new additions to the family:
Also made a mistake ordering the new front bumper from Aeroplug. I waited two weeks for it to ship then finally reached out - no response and their website has been taken down/phone number offline. It looks like they may have gone out of business but I got lucky and my credit card I used for payment was never charged. Not sure if they were out of business before the payment was processed or if somehow my card company caught it. Either way I started looking for another option. Because I was not punished for my mistake I clearly did not learn my lesson and I ordered a bumper from an even lesser known source - Colorado N5X. They claim to have OEM bumpers imported from Germany and the total cost was $638 including $5 for shipping. I figured this was a mistake but the bumper has actually shipped and is transit. No idea what to expect and I may regret this decision but at a cost less than the replacement GTS lip I purchased it's a price I'm willing to gamble with. In other front-end refresh news I'm awaiting an insurance check for a replacement windshield. Last piece of the puzzle will be the headlights. I'm planning on polishing and PPF'ing the lenses at very least. I may upgrade some bulbs while I'm at it.

New bumper arrived (surprisingly) from Colorado N5X. It looks like they have an inaccurate description on their site unless BMW started manufacturing their bumpers out of Taiwan. Either way the bumper looks great but really all that will matter is the fitment. Planning to test fit when I can find the time to swap the two.

Got some time to work on the car for Father's Day. Was able to test fit the replacement bumper and fitment is actually perfect. Also went ahead and did an oil change while the car was up in the air and swapped out the driver grab handle for this nifty sunglasses holder.
Time to find a good paint shop.

Front end facelift update:
Polished the headlights while the bumper was off and getting painted. They turned out pretty good. Not perfect but better than they were. Just got the bumper back today from paint - color match looks pretty damn good but won't know for sure until I get it on the car. Need to clean up the front end before install and mount the replacement GTS rep lip on it. Going to try to knock that all out this weekend. Last piece is the windshield. State Farm is making it much more difficult than it needs to be but I think I'm at the end of the claims process. Cherry on top is a new front emblem I ordered. OEM one was looking a bit rock chipped. Excited to see it all come together

Lenses clear coated and front end all prepped. I'm a bit OCD in that I like to VRP every square inch of plastic/rubber whenever I have something taken apart.

It's complete! New Euro bumper installed and they nailed the color match. Replacement GTS lip installed as well. It's a pain installing them but I got it to fit perfectly. New emblem was the finishing touch. This was the last major item on my wish list and now the car feels so clean and complete.
After I get the windshield replacement done I'll likely just be focusing on maintenance items as I go along. At this point I've got the car in my ideal form and it feels great. Scary thought but as soon as I finished this I started getting an itch for an e60 M5 despite all of my logic and reasoning faculties telling me otherwise. Will see if that ever comes to fruition or if the itch will subside..

I sure do: https://haimusracing.com/en-us/produ...front-splitter This is my second lip of this sort the first being 360Carbon. Both of similar quality. This one came with the 3M adhesive already in place which was nice. I managed to get this one to fit better but not sure if that was the product itself or just a better install my second time around. Feel free to PM me if you do go with this option and I'll shoot over some installation tips if needed.
