Haven't done it on an E9x but using a heat gun and an assortment of scrapers, followed by adhesive remover/brake cleaner/mixed hazardous waste laced with plutonium sprinkles did the trick on the E36M3 race car.

The corkscrew was alright, but that Rainey curve is something else..

T9 is probably the most underrated corner at Laguna Seca. It's so interesting different lines are fast but still don't feel right 😂

Totally, so underrated - the track really comes alive from 5 through 6(7) and 8, 9, 10. Too bad Turn 11 scrubs so much speed off the flow, but it's needed I guess.

I was asking around if there is anything else like LS T9 there - maybe the Sonoma T6 Carousel? - Haven't been there yet.

Before I spend $450 on preventative maintenance, have you guys glanced at the vanos gear cover thread and have any of you run into cracked OEM covers? I have valve covers on deck next as my Maintenance job so this would be the time to address it. Haven't checked mine yet.

What a piece of Motorsport heaven!

I'm no red-hot racer, only been to half dozen other tracks and the 2 big ones in Europe(Spa>Nurburgring Nordschleife) - but LS is a truly great track - so well connected, amazing elevation changes and has a great flow - there isn't one bad corner here!

If you're in the region or can make it here, I highly highly recommended. I'm not the first one to say it and wont certainly be the last.

My only complaint about Laguna Seca is the cost of running it - it is super hard on your brakes.

Yup, agree. Just to give some perspective I ran a completely stock e92 M3 CP at Thunderhill 3 mile on a very hot day with temps around 108F.

Issues were:

1) PS fluid spill over - the sock over the reservoir helped to avoid splash in engine bay - Read that up here so THANKS!! But level reduced to close to bottom mark from top. Plan to get either better PS cooling or the Bimmerpost SS reservoir if I need to.
[COLOR="Blue"]Change for Laguna Seca[/COLOR] - Put the sock again but no spill. I'm guessing cooler temps (60F), high temp brake fluid and slightly less fluid in the reservoir to begin with helped.

2) Stock Textar OEM pads faded as expected and just dropped off after the cliff.
[COLOR="Blue"]Change for LS[/COLOR] - Got PFC08 front and rear. They are loud, but effective for my current capabilities.

3) Spongy pedal towards the end of each session with regular Brake fluid.
[COLOR="Blue"]Change for LS[/COLOR] - Castrol SRF. Saw lots of air in the system, so the flush helped

4) Greasy tires towards the end of the day. Started the day with RE71R with wear tire depth at 5 front/4 rear and from 2018, these came with the car. They got closer to 4 front/3 rear at the end.
[COLOR="Blue"]Change for LS[/COLOR] - Falken RT 660 OEM profile tires front and rear. No complaints yet on these.

Question: Should I go with Dinan fixed camber plates or adjustable camber/caster plates (Vorshlag, etc)?

I did 3 track weekends this year and plan on doing ~5 next year. I have OEM Competition suspension with EDC. I put Michelin PSS's on for the most recent track weekend and I'm starting to notice a little more wear on the outside edge of the front tires so I'm thinking I need to get some negative camber added in. I do daily drive the car and it's currently aligned to oem spec. I'm not planning on upgrading to coilovers for a long time either.

I was thinking best bang for buck would be the Dinan Fixed Camber Plates but should I bite the bullet and go for the adjustable ones which can give you even more camber? Thoughts?

Carousel definitely has similar vibes as you get it right, you will be rewarded with a very fast straight.

I can't imagine a situation where fixed plates make sense if the car ever sees the track and you have a decent alignment shop.

Buy now and just do it either way? I ordered mine but not sure if I want this solution or the Deans/Carbahn solution yet.

When you say a decent alignment shop, are you thinking adjusting the camber (and get realigned each time) before and after each event? Or just saying that it takes a decent alignment shop to handle the camber/caster adjustments since they effect each other when one is changed?

I'm saying in the simplest form, camber plates add more variables via more adjustment to setting the alignment, which itself can be misunderstood by a run of the mill shop.

And that the main benefit from adjustable camber plates is improved tire wear. So a good shop doing a proper alignment will understand the tire being run, your driving abilities in pushing that tire, and the track it will be run on and this can pay for itself in improved (less) tire wear.

And no, there should be no need for an alignment before every event, provided you haven't messed with any element of your ride height or suspension or chassis pickup points

PS fluid is supposed to be at bottom mark of dipstick when cold. Anything more is overfilled. So we should consider our PS reservoirs 'self adjusting' - anything over bottom mark and it spits it out during trackdays.
