Been sidelined for several weeks now waiting for my splitter to be repaired. In the meantime, I picked up a new (to me) enclosed trailer and sold the Trailex. Though I absolutely LOVE the diesel Cayenne, it's just not an appropriate tow rig for a 24' enclosed. So.....I went a little crazy (couldn't resist the massaging seats) and picked up this beast today.

Haha, thanks! I do absolutely love the Cayenne. Problem is, with a 24' enclosed, the wheelbase is too short for safety and tongue weight would exceed Cayenne spec.

This is how people end up buying stackers so they can "split the weekend haul costs with their buddies". We're gonna "Save SOOO MUCH MONEY bro"

RIP your fiscal restraint, soon as you remove one limiting factor in the rig you'll max it out some other way

Also, excellent color choice. Thank you for not buying black or white or silver.

I'm desperate to keep the enclosed life going while also downsizing from the Tundra and not finding anything is worth the hit on either space or tow safety. Also my now 17 year old trailer is basically one lawn mowing season away from the scrapyard if I sell it so, womp womp

Haha. For me, the stacker concept would not be about cost savings but more about having a more convenient way to spend time with buddies. The good news is that this rig is plenty capable of towing pretty much anything considering its 36,000 lbs capacity.

I'm not big on black cars and white trucks all look like work trucks to me, which is partly why this color was so attractive.

The enclosed trailer is pretty cool upgrade for me because I plan on storing the car in it and getting my garage back!

Crazy to me how these trucks are now heavily into CDL territory.

okusa Curious if you had considered an Aerovault with the Cayenne?

Ya, the max trailering package includes 3500 frame rails and leaf spring. It's a technical workaround for those wanting 3500 capacity in a 2500. I was not looking for that feature, but every truck I found that I liked was already spec'd with it.

I did briefly look at them but I wanted something with more interior space.

Thanks again. But I can’t find it. Looked at universal as well. I’ll give you them a call

FINALLY got back on track today and it was perfect weather at WSIR. Haven't been there in a couple of years and have not been on track since February when I destroyed my splitter at BRP while trying to figure out the massive changes to the car (I'm kinda impatient). So, today I started out pretty tentatively and tried to feel things out the first two sessions. Then, everything felt so good that I pushed in the third and went 1:23.7. Unfortunately, as can be seen in the video (posted to Instagram), I was impeded going into turn 1 and according to the Aim data that cost me a full second FML. Overall really good day though.

Agree gorgeous build, soon to be tested with Berns!

Also would love to hear where this finally landed weight wise. Assuming it gets weighed trackside for competitive event?

Thanks Alex! It’s actually been quite frustrating since the damaged splitter in January which resulted in missing all of the drivable weather.

During the downtime, I had Steve at EAS address a few issues:

(i) I hated the 1,000 lb front springs so went down to 950;
(ii) the front windshield was bowing on the front straight at BRP (so much that it made a huge “pop” sound that really startled me the first time it happened. So, Steve installed a center brace;
(iii) the stock dash was buried under the dash and I couldn’t see if the tc light was on or not. So, Steve moved it to the center of the dash and cut a small window in the carbon; and finally
(iv) I have been complaining about what feels like a boost delay problem and Steve found a fixed an issue with the BOV.

Here are pictures of (ii) and (iii). Otherwise the car looks same as before and still sits under 2,900 lbs.
