Those CF bits are BMW Performance add ons, not ZCP stuff. If you meant pictures that included those then sorry.

I LOVE those wheels. Could you buy them as a stand alone?

Yeah, you'll most likely be able to buy those wheels from BMW dealerships like Tischer, and yes, you'll still be able to order an M3 with style 220M wheels if you don't opt for the ZCP package.

I was called friday by BMW in Costa Rica and they said I could finally order my 2011 M3 with ZCP . My first choice was SG with Fox red, carbon leather, M-DCT,and ZCP but now there is a Low posibility of getting Frozen Gray and I have seen Mark'M rust brown interior and I'm having second thoughts about this last color combined with black exterior. I definetly appreciate anybody else's positive, helpfull opinions, comments or photos. By the way, the general manager assured that the 19" 259M y spoke wheels for my car offered only in gunmetal same color as the 18 standard an not silver as the ones for the US models

Photoshop disaster again

Why do BMW have to screw up so badly with their press release pictures?

When the E46 M3CS was released the pictures made it look awful, jacked up like a 4x4, on skinny wheels. In reality it looked soooo much better than the pictures

Now the E92CS gets the same crappy Photoshop picture effort, making it look higher off the ground (certainly not lower) and the wheels look, at best, mediocre. They picked the wrong colour too.

Now take look at the leaked (AW) Comp Pack car elsewhere on this site, and the whole appearance is different. Lower stance and the wheels look gorgeous.

Come on press office - do a decent job not a rubbish one, ffs!

I'm not sure how much PS those images went through, but probably not a lot. That said, what's exacerbating your complaint about ride height is that the ZCP is running the same size tires as our cars on half-inch wider wheels, which will cause them to balloon up along the center. This is likely giving the car the illusion that it's riding higher.

my dealer today called me to ask me if i wanted the competition package on my M3, it costs slightly more than the u.s, $6700 to be exact, i was almost going for it till i discovered that the carbon fiber splitter and rear spoiler are sold separately! wtf? i though it was part of the package. so basically all you get are the BBS like rims, a 1cm suspension drop and a new suprt sport mode(iDrive I'm assuming). do you guys think it's worth it? i'll eventually have to fork extra for the CF bits. i like the rims, but the pics dont do it justice, i guess if one of those things that need to be seen in real like to be appreciated.

or i could just order the stock M3 with the competition CF add-ons and get new springs to drop my car. would that be a better alternative?.

thoughts?

It boils down to how much the darn wheels are worth to you. You'd basically be paying like 6 grand for the wheels, when the better-looking (IMO) 19s are $1,200. That means if you sell the stock 19s (you can sell them for a grand in a day) you'd have SEVEN GRAND for wheels. Besides, somebody mentioned those wheels not being forged, which would be highway robbery IMO, so better check on that. Seems to me you can order much better wheels that look the same for less money, plus wider if you want them.

The only thing you couldn't add is the different MDM mode, but I wouldn't care. Good luck.

im not thrilled with the comp wheels to be honest. i'll stick with the stock M3, get spring to lower the ride slighly and prbably end up getting BBS or HRE P40 wheels instead. the ZCP package is truly disappointing, plus i can order comp CF pars or better yet get my carbon bits from IND instead.

tell, which springs do you recommend? and would they interfere with EDC or in anyway stiffen the car as it is? i just want a modest 1cm drop

any recommendations on springs?

How about the ZCP springs? That's the route I intend to go, along with the ZCP wheels, which I like a lot.

Not sure if UAE is same as US, but the comp pkg only costs $500 more here if you already are getting the 19" wheels and the tech package.

From the official press release on page 1 of this thread:

Quote:
The new range of items from the Original BMW Accessories program available for the BMW M3 provides an even more intense driving experience. Retrofit options designed for this model are specifically geared towards increasing dynamic performance and driving pleasure. For example a rear spoiler and front apron flaps in carbon will be available from spring 2010. As well as perfectly matching the Competition Package the aerodynamically optimised components further reduce lift force, thereby increasing the driving dynamics potential of the BMW M3.

the CF kit is available, i ordered my M3 with the competition package. here is a pic i took of the front splitter. sorry didn't have the time to take a pic of the rear spoiler. but trust me, you wont be disjointedness, you'll love it. i had them on reserve for me along with my paid akra till my car arrives in may.

here is a pic of one of the splitters...

it comes with some with some kind of soft sticker that i believe goes in the intakes to protect it from scratching in case you wanna remove the splitter. the CF parts were extremely high quality and feather light!
