I made a small metal bracket that is screwed in behind the dash plate using factory screws/holes.

Put it on the windshield on either side of the instrument cluster. It should be visible out of your peripheral vision.

My coach has said some people do stuff like configure the lights to change colors based on lap time, e.g. red if you're slower than your PB in that sector, yellow if you're matching it, and green if you're beating. This way you can see if it's a fast lap out of the corner of your eye. Or you can use the lights to help figure out if you can go down a gear. You basically tie the gear number to the speed in MPH (since you can easily calculate the max speed per gear based on the ratio and tire size). Flash it green if you need to downshift, for example.

Left side, above the air vent. I use a RAM brand mount for it. Haven’t wired CAN yet so just using OBD for now but planning on wiring CAN through the air vent.
I ought to take some better photos, but you can see the mount in this vid:

I have mine in the same location as Kelse.

Running through the steering column, behind the dash, and behind the glove box to the CAN & fuse box.

Thanks everyone else! either side of the cluster looks to be the best solution. I will be wiring to the CANBUS.

I made a bracket with parts from ram mount and mounted mine on the cup holder. When I'm not using it I can take the bracket off and leave the can cable in the glove box.

It is slightly out of my peripheral vision but can still easily glance at it when needed.

I was planning to mount mine using the pro clip side mount but went with the MXS instead.

That's a clever solution. May not work very well if you have a passenger (coach/instructor), but I like it.

I liked this solution. Might try it again. Have my "race screen" set to coolant temp, oil temp, gps speed, and lap. With lights to highlight lap time variance.

It's actually really nice to cover the speedometer as it's wildly inaccurate with my track wheels.

Similar to Kelse, I have it on a ram mount on windshield in the corner. Ran the 12V cable around the steering column.

I like M3 Number 86 Proclip setup as a more secure setup if Suction cups are not allowed.

Everyone has some great ideas for mounting! DJ Dub also had a CD Slot but I wonder if shifting would cause some clearance issues.

Saw those and very curious although I do wonder for those of us with the full SPL setup up front that does roll center correction how much more you'd get from this. I assume it's doing all the correction for stock arms and you wouldn't really want to mix the two.

What's the benefit? Useful for a car like mine that has stock front arms with aftermarket monoballs?

Benefit = racecar and an empty bank account. Win-win.

If you go to their website they have a pretty thorough explanation of the problem and solution.

Yea I read their site. Some toe, camber, and roll center behavior changes with movement... is it significant? Like $2,900 significant? Lol

I wonder if the strut mounts are a little more onboard for clearance like I mentioned the other day.
