Hmm... That Sunday was rented out to Drive Florida. And I remember eyeing a SG E92 at the Aloft Hotel the night before. I am going to guess that's you! Just came across this thread and enjoying it.

Haha you would be correct! Were you driving the white e92?

Some teaser shots - going to try and finish the install tonight but I plan on being OCD and cleaning the engine bay while everything is apart so we'll see how far I get..

I was not but got to talk to him. He was a cool guy. I was rocking the yellow M4. It was a rental from Turo while I search for the right car. Following a few E9X and E46 M3s and trying to pick what's right. Hopefully by the C2C rally in December or the Orlando one early next year.
I was eyeing both of yall's though. I got to spend a good amount of time behind the white one... Windows down, music off, and just listening to that exhaust was amazing. Definitely gets me leaning towards that chassis. |

It just didn't give me the enthusiast feel that older BMWs have always given me. All personal preference and I respect it but personally wasn't my cup of tea. Excited to see what the E9X has to offer! |

Lol but the DCT issue is the same with e9x platform - there isn't really a 'Park' you just slap it in to neutral and turn the car off and it electronically puts the car in park once shut off. Good luck on your search. Obviously I'm biased but the car and experience you get for the price with an e9x is really tough to beat.

Finally finished the install of the plenum and took it for a spin. The induction noise is phenomenal and it just looks gorgeous. Might already be one of my favorite mods to date. It's an entirely different driving experience. Pretty happy with the match between the aFe intake and plenum they seem to pair nicely and fits the OEM+ theme of the car.
Wondering what kind of real impacts leaving the airbox lid off will have. Currently liking the exposed look and additional noise! I will try and get a decent sound clip but have noticed it's difficult to capture.

Some pictures from last weekend's cars and coffee. The plenum is a hit.
Also got re-posted on BMWM's official Instagram page so that was pretty cool. @spacefox_m3 if you care to follow. Probably the best shot I have to date of the sun hitting the Space Grey Screen grab of the BMWM post:

Haven't done an update in a while. Really just been enjoying the new plenum and the crisp winter air down here in Tampa. Car loves it.
Have a few minor mods on the way - going to try out a set of Future Classic spacers on the front wheels to see if I can solve the vibration issue I was having with the MS spacers. Ordered new OEM floor mats as well, mine were looking a bit worn. Next big ticket items will be tires and brakes. Going to run PS4S again but a bit wider (255/275). Having trouble deciding on brakes. I'd like to upgrade from the stockers as I do plan on tracking more frequently but don't feel the need to go full BBK. An upgrade to an M4/M2 retrofit sounds like my best option. I would really like to utilize FCP Euros lifetime warranty as well so when the rotors are due for replacing down the road I don't have to pay out the nose again. Will see where I end up.

I don’t suppose you have a link to where you got those MPower decals on the rollbar ?

Not much to update. Just been enjoying the car. About to eclipse the 50k mile mark! Finally got a new phone so I thought I'd upload some higher-quality photos from recently.
Found a minty 1m at a local meet up over the weekend:

Crossed the 50k threshold ahhh!
Time for another oil change. Also finally installed Future Classic spacers to replace my shaky Macht Schnells. Much better in the vibration department. Still need new tires and rotors. I signed up for the retro fit front BBK kit group buy and plan to pair it w/ new M4 rotors for a decent OEM+ upgrade with lifetime replacement on the rotors to make me feel better about tracking the car. The question is - M Blue or Yellow front BBK???

Great update Spacefox, I think the yellow will POP better, seeing as your car is Grey. The blue, while nice, will blend in too much IMO.
Plus Grey and Yellow typically work very nice together.

The blue fits the OEM+ theme better and has the added benefit of matching a set of M4 rear calipers that I will likely add down the road.

I cannot get enough of this car! So clean and classy!
My vote is blue for your car for the OEM+ look. Sometimes if something "pops" too much it can be a distraction in a bad way (i.e. kidney grille stripes )and draw the eye away from other features. And I'm not saying yellow brakes are ugly, just that your car is so perfect already the eye is drawn to the gray paint, silver wheels and hint of red through the windows. If the brakes stand out that much it's all I'm going to see lol. |
