I was pleasantly surprised by it. Definitely got a little greasy near the end, but overall very predictable. Garbage in the wet unless it's brand new.

Over the last month of "stay at home" i decided to get some work done on my track toy. Figured since I couldn't hit the track I might as well modify the car some while its stuck in the garage. Finished up the work this week and took it out for some photos.
Added the following: - 3M Satin Battle Ship Gray Wrap (ceramic coated) - Burkhart Engineering GT4 Wing - Trackspec Motorsports Hood Vents - APR Performance Carbon Fender Spats - ApexRaceParts.com Forged EC7-R 18x10.5 front and rear - Nitto Tire USA NT01 275/35-18 tires ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Tire sizes and heat dissipation question.
One of the main benefit of larger tires, in addition to more mechanical grip, is its ability to dissipate heat (not overheating). So the questions is which size dissipate heat better? 275/30/19 or 265/65/19? Assume same tire. Very curios to hear technical explanation. Not interesting to rehash a conversation about 18". Thank you in advance |

If both tires were the same compound, tread pattern, and tread depth, a 10mm wider tire isn't going to lose drastically more heat. Most of the time, we can safely assume the tire with more mass is able to go further before overheating. However, when overheating occurs, the tire with more mass will take longer to cool off. Remaking something like this has been on my to-do list for a while - http://www.izzeracing.com/products/t...m-systems.html |

You also need to be looking at the weight of the tire.
For example, a 265/35R19 PSS weighs 26 pounds. A 275/35R19 PSS weighs 26 pounds as well. But a 285/30R19...also 26 pounds. On my car, the OEM PSS ZP out back weighs 34 pounds. The R888R that I run now is the same width but different aspect ratio and diameter, and it weighs 32 pounds.

http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/51377119178 I haven't seen any wonky weights on it before. I always assumed the had the same data as realoem though.

For those of you with cars still equipped with functional EDC - do you switch to the comfort setting on bumpy parts of the track or leave it stiff all the way around?

I would never switch it mid-lap. I need to be focused on driving, not fiddling with electronics. FWIW, I have always run it on the stiffest setting on every track.

Another thing - when I'm harnessed in tight & have the Hans on I could not see the EDC control button & would not be able to tell what setting it was on while driving. If running 3pt though that is probably not an issue. |

I leave it in comfort mode on the bumpy tracks. No good way to switch it back and forth since it sort of has a delay to it.
