Looked into it a couple years ago, but the reviews were between "it blew something electrical and now my sunroof wont open" and "worked perfectly and it's awesome".
Don't waste your time. I bought one a few years ago. Fit was okay, but it didn't work worth a damn. As soon as I'd put a SD card in it to record it would stop functioning completely.

Don't waste your time on BlackVue. I just installed one on my friend's car and I don't like the features at all. For starter you need to get their power magic add on if you want parking mode. The App (Android) is glitchy and disconnects from the camera randomly.

Personally I love my Thinkware. I recently upgraded to their Q800 Pro from the F800. Both Q800 and F800 (and I think all Thinkware cameras) have parking mode and voltage monitoring built in. Therefore, you don't need to install anything extra. So far it has been excellent. The Q800 records in 2K resolution, so the file size are manageable and it is detail enough to pick up license numbers on the road. I think 4K is over kill. Prior to the Q800 I was using the F800 Pro, which is now in my wife's car. With both cameras never had issues with files not being recorded or corrupted memory card, etc.

Size wise the Blackvue appears to be smaller in photos. In person, it takes up about the same foot print as the Thinkware. The Thinkware is also lighter, so less likely it'll pull the mount off the windshield in the summer. My Thinkware windshield mount has been through 40C temperatures and 3 track days, and it is still as solid as a rock.

Another great sets of features, although doesn't always work, on the Thinkware is the road monitoring. It can detect lane departure, collision warning, advance start and red light/speed cameras. I turned off all the road monitoring features on mine, except for red light/speed camera warning. I would say 95% of the time, it accurately warns me 100m before crossing an intersection that has red light and/or speed camera. That database is user upgradable, so no need worry when new cameras are added in your area.

Should be able pick up the Paint Corrected and Coated M3 tonight from the detailer. Wish I had better close up before pictures of the state of the paint, oh well. Detailer says the car "looks wet"

Good Lord, understatement of the year. That is some candy business, right there. I'm not even a sedan/fan and that has got me looking.

Had Active Autowerks testpipes installed about 2 weeks ago along with a new Alpine Stage 2 e93 Tune and the GTS DCT Tune.

Here's a short vid. It was night time so I didn't want to rev the car too much.
