Try RE11's you will be happy. Not knocking PSS they're awesome too but they're not as aggressive.

you hit the nail on the head. I used to have a twin turbo hsv r8 (read pontiac g8) with 275's at the front and 305's at the back using Michelin Sports Cup rubber. Excellent on the track but on the street the car lost cornering feel and was pig to drive.

so looks like the 295/30 on ZCP has some slight rubbing according to those I pinged.

Which begs the question: why is the 285/30 r19 such a hard/unusual size for a tire?

even the RE11 and AD08's don't come in that size, christ!

The rubbing is so minimal on the street that it's not even noticeable. If you look at the tire sidewall the first few months of driving on them you'll see some slight "rub wear", but you don't hear or feel it actually taking place. Or at least I didn't

This is what I dont understand....285/30/19 is an OEM size for some of the AMG cars.

exactly!

well, at this point i'm leaning like this (in order of priority):

1. re-buy the 275/35 PSS
2. get nitto Invo 255/35f and 285/30r at the expense of less performance overall
3. suck it up and get the 295/30 and live with slight rubbing.

What are you talking about my 305s don't rub with 4 people in the car. No rub what so ever.

you are running 305's on a 19" ZCP wheel?

you got any pics to share? From your previous pics it looks like you are running RE11's or another tire, not the PSS.

If you have some shots of the flushness to the rear fender, and of the bulge, I would really appreciate it man!

255/275 is the ideal size for that size wheel on this car

I run 255/275 on my RAC wheels (same width, slightly more aggressive offset) and the fitment is great, and the handling feels perfect.

I chose to go with the ad08r because the M3 is a heavy car, and a tire with a firm and stable sidewall like the ad08r makes a big difference in how the car steers and feels even on the street. going with a softer sidewall tire like pss in a larger size will really reduce the sidewall stability and support, and I would hate how the car would drive.

I will track the car as well, but even on the street I far prefer an extreme summer on this car to a tire like PSS

the PSS seems to be the safest obviously, but looks like even the AD08's may fit if you are willing to do some fender rolling or inner lining trimming.

I had the Invos, not a bad tire but you can do better for the same amount of money. The new Toyo T1Sports is an excellent tire which I am running now. Also the Continental Sportcontact5 P is an awesome tire. Right up there with the Michellin PSS, if not better in some tests, although more expensive.

I think the GTS sizes are the best sizes to run on this car..its not just my opinion its what BMW chose for the GTS. I have no issues with the MDM nor DSC issues a lot of people like to post about. Ben at TireRack even said as much...

hmmm... never heard of the sportcontact 5 P to be "as good" as the PSS I'm not saying that's incorrect, as you've looked into this longer than I have, but I'd love to see some reviews that can show this.

It seems to be a mixed bag in that post..from my own experience I thought they were on equal footing. The biggest gripe I saw was about wear. Continental improved the 5Ps to a 280 treadwear when they were 240. Also, there have been some tiretests in Europe I saw and the Conti 5Ps came out on top over the PSS. Like I said I think they are darn near equal. The issue is that the PSS isn't available in the rear GTS sizes.

If the PSS were available in 285/30/19 sizes I would choose them over the Contis only because of price.

He's correct, you do lose some feel with those widths and on harder cornering there is some flex until the car "settles" into the turn, but then it grips like crazy. For the driving I do on the street this isn't really bothersome but it would not be ideal on a track. I love the ZCP wheels, and wanted the look of wider tires without going much shorter in tire diameter (285/30), so I decided to take the above trade-off. You have to decide what you're most comfortable with.
