Yes, you would most definetly void your warranty if the dealership finds out.

Anyone wanna try and guess wheel horsepower, I'm guessing a tad under 400 and about 290 rear wheel torque?
I'm sceptical with just a flash, but that puts the HP numbers up there with a 997 Turbo, not too bad.

Is it possible to make the new code accessible with a pushbutton or something similar?
Something like BMW has a Sport button - so you could get good MPGs commuting and when you want to go for a joy ride you can switch over (I know it is a tad different because most people probably always have it in Sport mode) |

I figure he should be at least 400whp....since a couple different stock M3's have tested in the 370's....
Another factor is when BMW designs the ECU's they do it for the worst possible combo of poor fuel and extreme weather....so the engine won't grenade under high load in hot weather with crappy gas.... Yes the ECU can compensate for enviromental and fuel conditions, but it only senses "bad" gas once a knock or ping is registered....... So there should be a subsantial safety margin in the stock ECU... SO a tuner that is tuning the engine for higher octane gas...say 100 should be able to get some good gains....add an exhaust and intake and the gains keep going up....since the race M3 is rated at 485hp (I'm sure thats way low) that should be attainable with race gas and exhaust work.....

I was thrown off at first as well, but if you look at the scale carefully, you'll see that it cuts off right around 8300.

Correct, I was mistaken, the rev limiter was lifted only slighly in order not to cut the engine of or pause at 8,400. The power cut is now at 8,500 but tuned for 8,300!! Get my drift?

No idea in hell!!! Have never really accurately measured this. But I suppose the ultimate test is that on the long part of a race track where I take the car I used to do almost 240kph and I am pulling a tad over 260 now. This is also very consistant with what I was told. I also do "feel" a power increase. In order to measure 0 to 60 I need to buy a proper device.

I'm pretty sure that is true. Even with the PS2's and 295 rear rubber there is a good burn after 2nd and third. I do notice this more than before. I rarely take of from 0 at full power though, this ususally happens from maybe 10 to 15 kph starts.

But they do seem to be absent from this thread for some reason. What will eventually shut them up in the future, is the TTV8. The next gen 5-series with the TTV8 will make the 335i kids little TT6 obsolete. |

When BMW makes a TTV8 M3 I will buy one Jet. Modding a turbo is much easier than modding a n/a car and with much better results. Id love to see what a chipped TTV8 would do. But until you see this chip on many cars and several different dynos maybe you should keep your mouth shut about 335's.

Let's keep the 335 debate out of this informative thread or it will be ruined. I'm fine with that discussion, but please keep it in threads that are dedicated to that discussion.

There are lots of different rumors about the weight of the front seatings.
I read in one forum : 31,48kg each one. But one friend from an Italian forum weighed the seating and the result was almost 34 kg (75 lbs!!) each one. The performance ones seem to be lighter : around 24,5 kg each one (54,4 lbs). But from a German catalogue it seems that they declare only 3 kg less (6,6lbs) for each seating. I think we need an help for the translation from a German friend...:-)
