He might get away with it once or even a handful of times - but Murphy's Law may apply to your case. I wouldn't chance it.

there is a retrofit path from BMW. It is in the latest ETK. You need to get the lights, the plug and play cable and footwell module 3, and have the FWM3 coded at the dealer
Will be more expensive than the EAS route as a new FWM3 is needed |

I can confirm this as well. Despite the cancellation of the E92 LCI Black Lines, it looks like BMW will still be developing a retrofit cable for pre-LCI E92s, and a reflash will be necessary. I'm curious to know how this coding will be different than EAS's current approach.

Those are the Euro-spec lights with the amber turn signals (which I prefer to our red turn signals). The US-spec light PNs are 63217251959 and 63217251960.

So if this is true, how do 1 know if his car car/cannot be coded prior to trying to code the car.

Add about $200 for the FRM3, not including labor + coding from your dealer.

The two cables are relatively cheap, though. Tom, does coding away BulbCheck also remove the flicker of any LED coronas during startup (assuming the owner has their lights set to Auto and DRL to on)?

I unfortunately live in Australia, so I have ordered the amber lights and 2x cables from bmminiparts.com in the UK.
I am hoping after installing the hardware I can just remove the bulb checks and everything will be fine... or will I have to go to dealer? |
