Agree with all the comments - As noted the work isn't complicated. Assuming I can get the cable and crimper I'll definitely do it myself.

Just had this recall done at the dealer.
Very next time I go to drive the car, I get crank but no start. Towed back to the dealer. They say I need an new DME. They don't see the connection between their work and this failure. Dang coincides. Could they screw this up and cause this new issue? |

Edit: Bumped into this thread, the DME control of the alternator is interesting, might be worth readin up on this and check what actual codes your dealer is pulling: https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1470613 Last edited by Helmsman; 11-27-2019 at 08:44 AM.. |

I apparently had my recall done in June, never presented symptoms. Now this week, all of a sudden I've got an issue.
Jiggled the fuse box and it came back to life for 2 days. Now it's dead again and the jiggle isn't working. Dealership says that if they find it's not because of the recall being done wrong or something, that they will have to charge me a diagnostic fee... What are the odds they say that they made a mistake vs. blame me for it for some reason? Also, what are the odds that they never did the recall but said they did? Is there any way to tell if they put a new cable in? |

Yeah, which is why I'm kinda wondering if there is a way to tell if they did it or not? And I mean...recall or not, I'd assume if the fix failed it would be covered, correct?

Only then will you know, otherwise they might make something else up even if it's their fault.
