It's always cool to see guys/gals around the country putting together enthusiast events like this. It gives us crazy people other crazy people to geek out with! With most family, friends, neighborhood people, colleagues, it's always the same.....You say the word "motorsport" and you get crickets... It's nice when you're able to talk about some aspect of your car without the other person rolling their eyes. Even before I had an M3, I always thought it was cool how passionate M3 owners were. And when you can build a bit of face-to-face camaraderie with a bunch of like-minded crazies you met on a forum, that's awesome!
Anyway, I can't make it out, but I hope you all have a great time! (In Southern California, the motorsport/track environment is quite thriving. There are a lot of regulars, and more new people trying it all the time. The paddock is DEFINITELY full of like-minded people that are cool to talk to. Sometimes a bunch of us will huddle in my trailer and escape the sun and the light banter is quite entertaining. Other times, I'll grab a laptop and a few of us will go through the data and talk about the track and ways of attacking it. And other times, you just wander around the paddock and see what's going on. There's always SOMETHING going on. Good times!) |

Dogbone is on to something here. I hang with many car groups and love them all. But M3 gatherings have a special energy. Random owners and cars meetup for a few hours- instant connection. No one is a stranger. It's like, okay, you are a geeky weird car guy too.

I will join you guys on this trip. When I bought this M3 I drove it back to Tampa from Conn and spent a day driving the dragon and a bunch of cool roads in the area. Sounds awesome to do with a bunch of M3’s. This will be a 100% solo trip for me. Quick pic I took on the way home after I bought the car about 2 miles from the dragon.

I actually made up a few shirts after the first run. The Dragon with the ///M logo and the date. I'll have the new/correct logo added to my Op shortly. Just waiting for the genius teenager who helped make the design. Possibly a member has an in with a silk screener and we can get a reduced rate for the finished product?
