+1. It's easy to remove the wing and simply leave the plates intact.

The BMW M3 GTS is equipped with variable front aprons - equipped and heckflugelelementen (adjustable rear wing?). They allow you to make a corresponding adjustment to the route profile of the aerodynamic properties. The activities carried out in the static wind tunnel at Mercedes measurements were made in the factory setting that has not changed even for the practice trials. In this configuration, the BMW M3 GTS features an open drag coefficient of 0.32. The aerodynamic elements thereby generate an output of 64 newtons at the front axle and 290 (30?) Nm at the rear axle. M3 (same as below): |

Does anyone run the Turner Motorsport rear carbon spoiler? They use it on their Grand Am (now TUSC) M3. Looks really nice.

I'm trying to shave a couple seconds off my lap times. Has anyone got before and after wing install feedback?
My car is putting down a tremendous amount of power, I have the lip, BBK, suspension, slicks, etc, but a couple of tighter corners I have to understeer to maintain rear traction at high speeds. I'll also be getting wider rear rubber soon, rather than square setup. |

Just to follow up with this thread. I have the GTC300 on my car and I dropped around 4 seconds at Willow Springs in my 335i. You will need, as people have said, to counteract all of the rear downforce with a front splitter. You want the splitter/lip combo to run around 4"-6" from the bottom of your bumper. Anymore is just creating drag (unless you have 600whp+).
As for which wing performs best, I will be switching from my 67" GTC300 to 71" GT250. The GT250 will have less downforce, but an extremely less amount of drag. The benefits of the less drag outweigh the benefits of more downforce (which can be increased by AOA). APR only offered the GTC300 at the time I got mine, as I was one of the first cars on either forums running a wing, Tightie would always make fun of it at his track events until he tried it hahahaha. Either way you will be happy with the product, but the GT250 is the more intelligent of the designs. -Mike |
