This is what I want. It could be a mash up of a M1 and i8 body. The i8 would have been amazing with a turbo 6 and a 6 speed manual. The chassis and body were light due to carbon fiber and aluminum. No hybrid.

The most desirable Porsche products are still the manuals, and cars like the 911 S/T, S/C, GT3, & GT3 RS, are clearly doing fine with a measly 518hp and a manual. 😄 It's not all about power, and the original M1 didn't set any HP records either. BMW knows that better than most, as they've never been known for brute power.
