Improve price performance ratio and it will fly off the shelves. Encouraging for now.

Great. Now go build a real M1 Homage with a manual and a turbo 6 cylinder, no hybrid system. I dare you!

Why, when the competition is approaching 1000HP to stand out in this class. The new 911 Turbo S is a Hybrid and has instant response and better everyday usability. Porsche also seems to be doing fine without a manual gearbox.

Porsche had a $5b profit loss in 2025. They’re far from fine and it’s because of the EV push.
The people that have money don’t want these EVs regardless of how fast they are. We want the connection that an EV will never reproduce.

Porsche made a bunch of strategic blunders, the largest of which was elevating brand value over customers. No one wants to take a $100k financial hit to own a Porsche Taycan for two years - their EVs are unreliable and inferior.

Recently went for a taxi lap in an M5 and while it was impressive to see how a heavy car handled at the limit with 5 passengers in it - I can’t actually see a situation where I’d ever need to drive that way with 5 liabilities, I mean, people in it.

The power train is impressive, and I guess if you have the money, it’s cool, but personally I think the M5XX series fills that niche perfectly.

Else I’d like to see a proper ALPINA to fill this role instead of an M.

Just a reskinned M8. Exact same drivetrain.

Looking at the horizontal grilles on the Skytop, Speedtop, and the new 7 Series LCI, it seems safe to say that BMW’s high-end models will no longer feature vertical grilles.

In my opinion, the Speedtop is faster than the Skytop and is comparable to the M8 Coupe.

This is very cool, however it's out of my price range. I'd buy a shooting brake, RWD 1/2 series if they ever make one (again). But they won't

Markets & tastes change over time.

I’m taint-deep in school currently so no moneys yet - but when my time comes (and those with cash now have…aged out) best believe I’ll be wanting my EV-monster of an M Car *while* still keeping an analog/vintage ICE for maybe weekends or track days.

Whether due to generational differences (setting the world afire vs. trying to save it) or flash-in-the-pan fads & trends - I, personally, have grown up conditioned to believe having both is more than possible [EV + connection]. If not now, eventually.

I’m probably the old guy yelling at the clouds now (I’m *only* 42), but do yourself a favor in the near future and drive a 911 GT3 before they disappear or become unobtainium. That’s an experience an EV will never be able to replace.

I think you’re approach is correct - EV commuter with a ICE weekend car except fun ICE vehicles are on a trajectory of the dinosaurs so you’re future fun ICE is going to be unobtainum too. You can see it with the F80 or 911 and the EuroN push hasn’t even really started yet.

This car looks kind of cool but half a million dollars for a reskinned 8 series?!?!?!?! My goodness.

Who is the market of this car? In what world is this nicer than Astons that are half the price? If youre gonna spend Ferrari money get a Ferrari.
