Still looking forward to what Infinity brings for a plenum. So many options to choose from now. Partee's looked interesting too but haven't seen much on it. Last edited by a5m; 05-28-2025 at 02:39 PM.. |

Agree, the latest design looks much better, and safer.
There are less glue on the inside that can fall of in big chunks like it has on mine. Anyway, I got an amazing email from IND today. Eventuri will ship me a brand new plenum as soon as possible. |

I'm happy for you and good on Eventuri for standing up and doing the right thing. That's what great businesses do.

I will probably swich over to Motorsport24 clubsport plenum next year. (Or migh go crazy with the race plenum).
I installed the lower Motorsport24 bumper intake last week. But want the rest of the airbox and plenum. The car has become a pure Clubsport/track car. So the Eventuri is to showcar for me now. |

I installed a DO88 DCT oil cooler and basically bought the M24 duct because of the carbon fiber look. But I see that the OEM duct is a lot smaler inside, so I hope it actually makes a difference in air flow as well.
The M24 duct is 462€ https://motorsport24.shop/BMW-M3-E92-Luftfuehrung-links |

Thanks for the link to the duct, I reached out to them on Whatsapp. It's definitely larger and smooths out the sharp bends. The Eventuri scoop is like $250 if purchased separately, and is stuck on. I rather go for this and replace the whole thing and have carbon from the bumper to the throttle bodies. I'll see if they make the grill ducts too. Last edited by a5m; 05-29-2025 at 10:05 PM.. |

Yes, I`m planning to get the complete M24 Airbox. But as I would need a custom MAP from them I want to do it at the same time as I install new camshafts. So this project will happen hopefully next winter. I will really look into the possibility of getting the Race Airbox, But this would need a new horizontal radiator, removal of AC, and electric servo pump. (M24 have all parts and kits for this) Would be a crazy build, but absolutely doable for a Street/Track Club Sport build. If not the Race Box I will definitely get the Clubsport plenum, that’s no problem to install, and get new software for. |

I'm sure the challenge is it is tricky to get a good bond in that area. Difficult to clamp down. Can't fault them for trying to stay away from metal on a carbon part. Because if it did have aluminum people would be bitching that it's not all carbon. Not an evolve fan by any means but those expecting them to fix aftermarket parts...sorry...that's the risk of using aftermarket parts. Especially 3-4 year old aftermarket parts. But...Evolve should want to maintain their reputation and take care of it. But...these cars are old and will get a lot more of the eBay racing crowd so Evolve might think this is a group they are willing to piss off. Just some thoughts...

I own their new updated plenum and I hope it holds up over time. For the price they charge for these, we should expect them to replace defective units as this should not be a wear item. From what I read so far, it seems Eventuri treats their customers very well and replace old defective units, as they should. Having a part as expensive as this last only 3-4 years is not acceptable, aftermarket or not. It should last the life of the car. With this platform getting older and more accessible, we might get more of the racing crowd as you say, but I still believe Eventuri wants to have a premium image and they will do what's necessary to maintain that.

I've inspected mine, sent photos to Eventuri and they had mentioned that the epoxy in mine seem to not have any issues. I've had mine for the past 10k now, so I think it's safe to say its an isolated issue? Otherwise, ALL the older plenums would have seen similar failure now?

I would continue to keep an eye on it. If something were to go wrong, I'm sure Eventuri would step up and make it right. That being said, I really hope no future issues arise with yours and I'm happy to hear it's ok.

Is the inside of your CF plenum coated with dust/dirt? It would have been easy to structurally analyze the plenum under static and dynamic loading environments. The dynamic loading environments are easily derived except for the random environment due to the engine vibrating on its engine mounts and the hood direct and reverberated acoustic loading environments. The engine random environment could be measured by accelerometers mounted on the engine by ITBs. It’s the hood direct and reverberated acoustic loading environments that are harder to define. However, I’d bet all of the CF plenum manufacturers did absolutely no structural assessments of their CF plenums. |

"The screws are held in place with lock nuts which sit on a carbon flange that is part of the trumpet. Then they use epoxy over the nuts as an added measure." "Adding the lock nuts was a bit tricky but just about had enough space. Also we are using Aerotight lock nuts which don't come loose under vibrations like the traditional nuts do." Also, a5m posted some pictures in this thread of the interior of the updated plenum and it looks dusty/raw, just like mine. If you run your fingers inside, you don't pick up anything, it's not dusty, it just looks that way. I'm not sure if the flange is bonded to the cf, I would have to ask Eventuri to get an answer. It's hard to tell by looking at it. Maybe the cf plenum manufacturers do some structural assessments with computer programs, who knows, but extensive testing would be costly I imagine.

It's the only way I can see they would have access to tighten the nuts and make sure everything is good.
