Motorsport24 claims about 35hp from their clubsport setup "with tuning" which sounds a lot like the ARH claims. But I'm willing to be proven wrong. I can see why the stock plenum might not be all that great from a high rpm performance perspective, it's a little bit small and clearly built to a cost and aesthetic brief, but maybe there's no room for improvement there. Nobody seems to have found out in the US, not with any definitive dyno testing I've seen anyway

I think we're all aware there about 50 intake options for these cars

Mine is supposed to ship next week. I'll be the first with it.

I'll post impressions, etc once I'm able to install it. I plan on doing before/after dynos

Then we'll do a group buy on the forum... lets see how that goes

That really does sound like ARH's bullsh!t

I doubt it will make more than 5, maaaaybe 10hp.

The question is, with supporting mods (cams/headers/xpipe), how many can this unlock?

Meaningful gains that wont break the bank! Looks like the Karbonious will be a great unit but I don't see it making power.

That page is full of clever/weasel wording. So it makes 9hp. Big whoop. That's not going to be noticeable.

I'd rather use the money for other things.

I over looked most of that, but did watch the video and the dyno before/after. hard to dispute that.. However, I do think a <$100 CF/Plastic scoop similar to the eventuri system under the driver headlight would net the major of those gains.

Yeah, maybe. 9hp is within the margin of error for a dyno IMO. The stock airbox design is already pretty good, especially considering the space constraints.

I'd consider this more of an appearance mod. Just my two cents.

Well, honestly, I loved my S54 box more for the sound than for the power gains. I’m more a fan of intake noise than exhaust, so I’d be thrilled if this box did something similar for the s65. Of course, I’m probably in the minority for intake>exhaust noise.

Excited to see yours and hear your thoughts!

Yes, for me this is all about sound.

The stock intake sound of the S65 is glorious and the Dinan CF elbow already makes it sound much better... the ENTIRE box made out of CF should be to die for!

It comes with its own CF elbow and CF airbox cover. It's really a massive, massive piece of CF!!

I also have the CF elbow from Dinan and I'll have to sell it... but it sells for $600 so I'll put that towards the Karbonius box!!!!

That's the problem with the S54, the exhaust note sounded like shit, regardless of what you did with it. So induction is what we all aimed for! Hahaha I know for me, in 8 years of E46M ownership, I finally settled with something that just didn't sound like cans full of bees!

The S65 on the other hand, sounds glorious, stock or modded, its super hard to make the exhaust sound bad!

Syt do you have a thread/journal on whichever car you're going to install this box on?

I already have pretty loud exhausts on my E9Xs, I cannot wait to hear louder induction music!!

I do not have a journal. I probably should and maybe some day I'll start one retroactively

I'll publish a DIY for the airbox and then start the group buy, will post both links in this thread

I've installed their CSL boxes on 3X S54's and have heard at least 5 different ones in person. They are Amazing. Fingers crossed for this one!
