BPM generally gets good reviews on here, so curious to see why it didn't meet your expectations

Randy @ Epic is regarded as one of the best tuners in the business, comes highly recommended. We've seen his work first-hand on the dyno.

It's like saying I drove a P1 and my supercharged M3 "aint all that"... We've got thousands of happy M3 customers out there that noticed a very worthwhile difference before and after... http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...784717&page=22 Software for an NA M3 is nothing like tuning a forced induction car... My car only gained 8whp with test pipes & you're "Stage 2" tune. From a cost perspective that's $125 per 1 whp gain LOL. I did not include conversion rate to CAD.

Considering you went to the length of posting a picture of that in the trash, I think there is more to the story. That's just a bit over the top. Your results are not representative, and there were certainly other factors involved that led to your result. You might want to use a recycling bin instead, it's better for the environment

I was about to say the same about BPM, I don't mean to bash anyone but it basically seemed like they only cleared the check engine light. Everything else power wise was identical to stock. That was odd considering I had removed both Cats and done a drop in macht schnell filter.

I think 10 rwhp peak power from a tune is about all you will get, other than updated factory software as the base and any add ons you want like higher red line or cold start delete or top speed delimiter. The tuner who is going to make the most peak power is the tuner who is going to lean out the mixture the most and add the most timing within the limits of the fuel used, but that best peak power will be realized only under ideal conditions. There is no magic going on with these pump gas tunes for these AFR and Timing target ECUs.

Leaning out the AFR a little to add a few rwhp should not hurt mpg. Might help. These tunes should not be decreasing mpg. Same goes for the usual mods of exhaust, intake and pulley.

Usually, low mpg is due to a cretinous right foot

Can someone explain to me the difference between what Gintani offers for over 1k to what Alex does for an 1/8 of that price (Alex does the GTS software upgrade)? I've read tons on about how to get more power out of my e90M, specially that low speed sluggish feel it has. I have a gintani sport exhaust on now... don't know what else to do yet. Thanks.

Get test pipes or an xpipe that's either catless or has hfcs. Then get a reputable tune.
EPIC, ESS and a couple more are reputable |
