Gintani or epic tune?

I've heard a lot of good things between both tunes. My friend whose a big M guy and has had every M3 keeps telling me to use epic. Would love to know what everyone else thinks about the two.

I would not run Gintani for any reason. Even if someone gave it to me. Literally, I would prefer to be stock.

Epic is the company that tunes most of the BMW track cars out there. They are not a forum sponsor and not popular outside of hardcore track guys.

Why don't you like Gintani? Yeah epic does a sick job with road course tunes.

You're just going to get a lot of biased opinions with a thread like this. It's not likely we'll see an owner chime in with first hand experience with BOTH tunes who can objectively give pros and cons from each tune. Both companies are reputable tuners. If you've narrowed down your choice in tunes to these two houses then you'll just have to search for users who have reviewed their tunes and decide which one suits you best.

We Use Gintani all the time, its our go to tune for E9x platform M cars.. we haven't had a single issue with running them either.. I haven't had any complaints and even two of our employees run their tune as well.

How about ESS? or BPM? or Dinan? therr are alot of good companies out there and to limit yourself to just a couple options will only cost you more. I have and sell the ESS flash tune and it has been proven (dozens of times) to be a very reliable and smooth tune. I know a lot of ///M Flight members who use the BPM tune, with zero issues. Since all of the flash tunes net about the same increase in power, why limit yourself?

I'm on gintani tune. No problems at all and the car definitely feels better more pull throughout entire rev range. Satisfied customer here!

I have been running Gintani's tune on my M3 for quite a while now and I have nothing but good things to say. Car pulls much harder then when it was stock and has absolutely zero problems. I also have multiple friends running their tune on both E9X Ms and F8X Ms and they are all extremely satisfied!!

I've got thousands of miles racked up on my E90 with the Gintani tune. Love it.

Wasn't aware Gintani even made a tune for our cars, also never heard of Epic. I was already torn between BPM's Stage 2 tune (seems like better results and features) and Evolve's tune (that overrun feature though!)... now i have to look into these before I decide.

I've had the Gintani ecu tune for several months now and have put the car thru it's paces with hard track days, etc. No issues here so far. Made nice linear but more importantly SAFE power. Heres my dyno chart from EAS. Steve at EAS told me the AFR, etc is very healthy range and safe for track. He also mentioned how it was one of the stronger cars hes dyno for the mods it has (test pipe + tune + 91)

I don't have a dog in the race, just presenting my own experiences and 2 cents.

Big fan of Gintani. Pulls far stronger through the full power band than my ESS did. I went for Gintanis burble tune but since my car is pretty much track only, Alex made me a custom tune with reduced burbles. Big thank you to him!

Dont waste you're money on BPM, i got the stage 2 BPM tune & it wasn't even all that. About a month after I ended up getting a Gintani kit & never been more happy.
