You can find some exhaust systems with adjustable tips.
Another solution if you're really set on getting an e92 exhaust on a e90 is to add a rear diffuser to the bumper. |

Seems like cutting the tips would be a fairly easy task. I too have an E90 and it seems like used exhausts for the E92 are much easier to come by so I could understand picking one up and modifying it to work.
