I guess if a used e39 M5 can sell for $176k a used RS4 can sell for $50k. It looks like there are a lot of crack smokers buying cars.

I think the higher asking prices are on the ambitious side... a friend of mine had an RS4 in an Audi Exclusive color (Suzuka Gray) in immaculate condition and he didn't get anywhere near that

Those hips remind me of the E46 M3 so much!

Interesting. How many miles were on his car if you don't mind me asking?

It's 100% due to rarity. The B7 RS4 is a inferior car to the E90/2 M3 in all aspects of performance.

Except braking... ///M could have stepped up their game here. Not that our cars have particularly weak brakes but the massive 6 piston Brembos on the Audi make me jealous

I drove one a couple years ago and I thought it was amazing. It pulled very nice and felt like it was on rails. Very solid feel which I really like. I almost bought one neat me that was very pristine and clean. At times I wish I did that over my E90. I think they will hold theyre value very well.

Beautiful cars. Always liked the rs4, but the places i see them most are on the side of the road with their hoods open. Wouldn't ever buy one.

Love the RS4. Back in 2008 I was going back and forth between a new RS4 vs E90 M3. The cars were literally side by side at the dealer. Both black, RS4 had platinum pack.
RS4 was fantastic drive, loved the thumping V8. AWD is nice. Manual was slick. But the E90 M3 was more dynamic and a bit more eventful. Plus the E90 JUST came out, where the RS4 was in the last run of that A4 class. E90 M3 manual was the choice, never looked back. Although I do have that RS4 engine now behind my head in my R8 V8 thumping

I’ve owned both a B7 RS4 and an E90 M3. They are both great driver’s cars with the edge in handling and response going to the M3. The RS4’s weight bias and AWD don’t help in the handling department, but outside of a track it’s hard to notice a huge difference. The RS4’s rarity is helping to preserve values on the nice ones. I think there will almost always be strong demand for both cars as neither Audi nor BMW makes N/A V8 manuals anymore. I can’t think of any manufacturer that currently offers an N/A V8 4-door sedan with a stick unless the Chevy SS is still in production.
