I have actually not seen any actual tests from any manufacturer, only unsubstantiated claims. I bet you can't guess why none of these aftermarket companies post actual, verifiable data.....

I hit a male jackrabbit on I-10 between Palm Springs and Chuckwalla and the rabbit did more damage (and stunk) then the phoenix truck tread! That was one big rabbit. "Bugs" was on his name tag I think...

Yes, I got their info and gave it to my insurance company (GEICO), but they said they treat this kind of situation as a no fault collision which is covered under comprehensive. I also have accident forgiveness, so this won't raise my rate. I guess I could get a lawyer and go after them, but seems like more of a hassle than it's worth. I was thinking about calling them tomorrow and seeing if they would at least cover my deductible. I don't know - thoughts?

Won't get anything if you don't ask.

Use your insurance and play the trucking company like you're willing to settle for $1,500. They may see it as an easy out.

Double dipping raises everybody's rates. I agree they should cover your deductible though. If it ends up being a huge fiasco and costing you a ton of time and extra money, yeah, then you're out a lot more than just some time and your deductible. But going straight to lawyering up seems like a waste of your time and a great way to get sucked into something emotional

Recently got my car aligned... -3.2 front and -2.6 rear. I have a track day in Aug 3 and then off to Willowsprings the week after!!! August is going to be fun month! Im still deciding to rent a truck and trailer though. I feel like I need to but the cost with fuel is going to be over $1k at least. I could save that money by drving my M3. These are times I wish I had a truck as a daily instead of a car lol.

willow springs is a great track, but miserable in the summer. did it once with temps in the mid 90's and it sucked (you're probably used to it being from texas). have some tires with decent life left. willow springs is like a cheese grater, especially in the summer!
if you find yourself in orange county, hit me up and we'll meet up for a beer or two. good call on trailering, try not to go off- its not very forgiving.

You speak the truth. Took a green flag for a club race once at 109 deg F. air temp. Hammered home the worth of the cool shirt setup.

I seem to have near death experiences every track day now. This one is from Sonoma. Corvette on the right's radiator exploded in front of me and I didn't see it until I ran over it....

So what is the verdict on the F8X platform with regards to track use now that they've been out for a few years? Easier to handle or still a handful? Putting down a lot faster times? Overall a better platform for the track? How does the engine hold up in high heat? Is everyone ensuring their tire PSI is dialed in?

Cooling is absolutely superb...even in summer heat no issues at all. My DCT also performed flawlessly. Stock for stock, it's a more capable and faster car than any previous generation. Are you able to extract the potential of it more easily, or have more fun with it? It's debatable and ultimately you have to make that decision. To me, it's too big of a car for the track, and just lacks something in the fun factor that my e46 brings out, regardless of engine output. And honestly, the car scares me and feel like I'm bracing myself to get bitch slapped at any moment.
