I read somewhere on here that the SR34's are similar to the 01's in regards to feel/wear. We'll discuss at TWS. I'll also be at COTA the weekend before TWS with Porsche club, think they may still have some spots open if you're around. They're only accepting Red/White Adv+ solo drivers so you shouldn't have an issue getting in (cost is significantly less than BMWCCA @ $775 for 3 days!).

Yost ran this kit on the E92 race car so I'm not sure what to think. Do you think they ran cooler simply because the radiator was old?

I've talked to Jordan a few times. Keep in mind his E92 was NA, weighs 1000 lbs less than mine and is built for endurance racing. At the Buttonwillow event I think he said he was averaging 1:57 lap times.

None of us are running endurance races. We are essentially running time attack during HPDE days. So, we are pushing for just a couple of balls out hot laps per session. For me that means 1:52 on the same configuration at Buttonwillow. I'm confident I could also run tons of consecutive 1:57 laps, but those 5 or so (hopefully soon to be greater) seconds I'm looking for make a gigantic difference.

So, while the CFS units may be sufficient for his application and intended use, the absolutely blow for mine and probably 99.99% of those reading this thread.

I've seen that thread and read about their units. Once again, no reliable track data is available. As to the radiator and oil coolers, even the OPs thread was not convincing IMO as the data was from different tracks and the cooler temps came on the cooler day. As to the DCT cooler, that looks more promising to me, but I think I'll let someone else take the lead on that purchase.

Thanks for the compliment on the lap time. Makes me wonder what I could run there with fresh tires (my TDs were on day 3) and no understeer.

Careful on the toe setting. Too much or too little toe can also cause mid-corner push (think slip angles).

I think you can safely change the front spring rate, add the zip ties (clip the tails so they don't catch the springs) and see what happens. Adjust your shocks to get the neutral handling back. Then adjust the front bar. Then fiddle with tire pressures. Your weekend will be over by the time you do this unless you have guys in pit lane that can make shock/tire pressure adjustments after a few laps into a session (so you don't have to unbelt, etc.).

You coming to spring mountain? I know my way around that track too. I'm just old and slow now, but my line is there...(except for ego check -- I always f'that corner up...).

I think they ran it and other mods because it was sponsored. Some mods are good choices and others you just scratch your head. Personally I would have built my car to go a fast as possible regardless if the parts were sponsored or not. BTW This is not in anyway directed at CSF as it could be a fine product. It is some of the other mods that lead me to feel this way.

Really bumpy but fun. It had rained the day before, so there were lots of spots on track with puddles, or dampness. Would've been nicer to have practiced skid recovery in the M3, but it's down right now. Also tried to practice trail braking and find the breaking point of the tires, but the diff doesn't allow the rear to kick out when trail braking on the 328.

the change from the ds2500's up front to the dsuno's wasn't as drastic as i though it would be. don't get me wrong, the brakes felt great- very consistent, firm pedal, etc. i was expecting a little more bite, but i don't know how much better it can get without activating abs.

is it safe to assume the tires are okay? have they been rotated with the same results at each wheel?

Thanks, it definitely was fun. The only person to give me crap was my friend who only showed up to spectate (he's never done a track event FWIW). He thought I was under/over steering a lot on track out. Same guy you see in the passenger seat during my third session.

Edit: A lot of cars were going off on that turn, so people probably didn't think much of me drifting there.

tires are fine. they were new at laguna seca about a month ago, and had their second track day at willow springs. tire with the most tread got rotated to the highest use corner of the car and the rest of the tires were placed accordingly. this was my first time with race pads and i wasn't quite sure where the braking limit was/is with them.
