68lbs-ft torque gain from RD? Wtf?

Saw this on m3forum

http://www.racdyn.com/IC_01.cfm?ic=2026540920

Quote:
Horsepower gains up to 24.7 bhp

Torque gains up to 68 lbs-ft

Wtf?

I've heard of tuning companies over exaggerating etc but this is just ridiculous `

Never trust aftermarket manufacturer claims without customer dyno's...specially if they use the phrase "up to." But hey, if you get 50lb/ft that's great too.

Yeah I don't trust it at all

But I don't see how they even think it would pass?

The question isn't believing or not believing them...

RD is a well known company with their stroker and etc.

How can they try to get away with such a crazy number?
That's what I'm curious to figure out

Probably a typo...it's plain ridiculous to claim such a big increase. Maybe its 68 Nm???

That's still about 50 lb-ft of torque if it's 68 Nm. So that's still a shit ton!

It is probably something silly like they reprogrammed the throttle mapping so now when your foot is 1/2 way to the floor, the butterflies are 75% open instead of 50% so at that specific condition it makes 68 more lb-ft than before...

Couple that with the TornadoFuelSaver (up to 28% fuel economy) and you get a torque monster with the fuel ecomony of a 4-cyl Accord . The saddest part is many folks believe everything you tell them... or those products wouldn't be selling .
