Sucks.....
I spoke to a BMW suspension engineer last weekend at M School and he told me there were no other reason than cost that is causing BMW to use these stupid calipers. Rotors are killer but calipers are jokes.

Wow are you sure E90 330i stops faster than the E46 M3 and the 335i?

Please clarify your comment about BBK's "adding weight". BBK's calipers and rotors weigh less than stock counterparts and reduce the unsprung weight of the car, all which benefit handling. The E36 brakes were very good for track work with race pads and euro floating rotors and served me well for many years without upgrading to a BBK on this car. Then again, my car weighed 2,800 lbs. |

Bigger rotors and calipers weigh more than smaller rotors and calipers. Please provide support for your assertion that a BBK weighs less than the stock setup. |

I wonder how a customer of mine picked up M5 wheels before the E60 was released... Guess I will have to contact him!

Help!
Hey guys. I'm finalizing my order here in the Philippines and still deciding on the wheels. There are two choices for 19" and they are:
1) M Light alloy wheels Double Spoke style 225 M 19" - additional Euros 479 or 2) M Light alloy wheels Double Spoke style 220 M 19" - additional Euros 1,321 I've only seen the 220 M style and not the 225 M style. Can anyone post a pic of the 225 M style? Quite a big price difference especially if you consider our weak currency here in the Philippines. Thanks. |

Yeah that doesn't make any sense. The offset will be all wrong on the 225M wheels.

I checked the option list again and saw that there was a tick (x) mark beside this 225 style wheel option available for the M3. Hmmm.... maybe a typo.

You guys need to drive some other car out there. My 99 M3 had awesome breakes and my new 335i also stops on a dime. The brakes are the main reason I went back to BMW. I agree that the multi-piston caliper look much cooler and the M3 should have had them.

Hey all,
I've seen two colors for the 18" wheels. One is a dark smoky color and the other is more silver. Anyone know the difference? I heard the dark ones are what ended up on the production units. Is this true? Thanks, BoB |
