alright, won't go dealer anymore, I figure out everytime dealer will tell you everything is fine, they won't solve any problem at all.

thats a little dumb...but its your car man. if youre at 20k miles and have actual engine problems, dont go crying to the warranty dept because i heard they can see if you broke in the car properly or not

It was nice meeting you there, hopefully you come out to a few more meets.

I did find it slightly odd that one time when your engine RPM's dropped so low.

My friend (Lunarwater) asked me to ask you this question, so I'm asking on his behalf. What type/grade of gas do you put in your vehicle?

the problem still have, happened almost everytime if I do as below

1 normal driving until the engine oil temperature stick on middle

2 park car turn off engine

3 after 1-2 hour, start the engine again.

4 count the to exact 90 second(every time happened on 90 second,I test it 10 times at least), engine rpm will drop once . check the video
, also, some time the engine speed will up and down for several time like the video(this video is not my but same problem)

And , I always pump gas from chev and shell,mobile , always 91 , never 87 or 89.

that's all the problem to now, 4500miles already.

check time 1:38 , you will hear that, and also, this time is slight rpm drop, sometime really make me believe engine will turn off immediately by itself.

if you notice at engine oil temperature when start the engine, you will find it is more than 120 F .
that is the EXACT sound i experienced on my 2011 as well...but its not consistent...it happened like maybe 3-4 times of all 6,500 miles i drove...maybe more, but i didnt notice...anyhow, it drives fine...seems fine too....the other day, i left it idling for about 5-8mins and i didnt hear it once...dont know..but if it IS an issue, im sure it will have to be consistently happening before i can even take it to the dealer...not going to waste my time just to get the "cannot duplicate issue" remark. anyhow, if u do go to the dealer, let us know what it is...but for now, im just going to write this off

Those are the typical symptoms of an idle valve on mostly '08 cars going bad, but on a '11??? Idle has never been smooth on my car, or any other M3 I've driven, but never erratic like that either. I had an episode where my car almost died twice in the same day, while on a trip, but recovered. And just did it once. I've had many of those one-time weird behavior episodes over the 2 years I've owned it, so hope that also doens't happen again. If it's fully repeatable, and it's getting worse, you could take it in. Good luck.

My 09' does the ticking and the idle dip. Now at 37K miles I accept it as normal. Taking my car in again tonight. Will have these checked out also.
