Production Week?

Just curious to know about how long after order it took you guys to get your production week. I'm at the end of week 2 and still no word ...probably just being antsy here.

usually theyre able to tell you right away I think? when i asked them they were being obscure about it so just asked to look at the paper where they have the car status, and looked mine was a 12th production week. as far as yours being 2nd week, that makes no sense. that would mean 2nd week of this year. if its 2nd week of this month thatd be 10th week production, next week would be 11th ( i believe)

ahhhh no, sorry to confuse. I meant I ordered two weeks ago, and still haven't been assigned a production week.

Dealer has three choices when he takes an order - change a current allocation for a car he has in the system, get one from another dealer that may match your specs or get a new allocation as it comes available to the dealership. All three will produce a production number and a production week. Check with your dealer where you are in the process and you will get wither a number, timing or another dealer.

I could be wrong, but a thought a production number would assume a projected production week. If true, then you dealer is being less than forthcoming.

Interesting! Im in the same boat. I Placed my order on 2/19/11 and to this day i still do not have a production week!!!!!! Im already 3 weeks in. I spoke with a BMWNA rep and they said the see it scheduled for build but they still couldnt tell me exactly what week. They "guesstimate" that it will go into production at the end of next week or the following week "WTF"

My CA has been great but he also did not have any additional info. I think the deal is because of the BMW Apps that are a March build addition. Lets just hope the car comes before June!

I ordered mine on Feb. 22nd. I still don't have an exact date. Every time I call the 800 number, I get a different answer. I got a tentative build the week of March 13th, or week 11. I called early last week, and they told me at 8:20 PM on Monday my car had enter the "Production Pack." He said that meant my car would start production any day. I called yesterday, and they said it was still only scheduled for production. She couldn't provide a date. Oh well, I've been waiting for a car since November 17th when I originally ordered an S4. I canceled that and ordered the M3 when they couldn't get my car until late July. I just wish they would get this thing started already.

Your dealer should have the most up-to-date information, according to the BMW customer service folks on the 800 number.

I ordered on February 17. The production number was given to me immediately by the dealership. I have been following daily on the website and on the 800 number. The message has not changed from "scheduled with no production date".

The dealership told me three days ago that production had begun. However the website and the 800 number haven't changed the "no production date" message. A customer service rep told me that the dealership's information would be more accurate than the 800 number which, in turn, is more accurate than the website. He did tell me I'm a Week 12, but I think he calculated that based on my order date and not actual manufacturing information.

You'd think the dealership, the 800 number and website would have the same information (isn't this stuff automated?), but evidently that's not the case.

I am week 13 and my CA told me today that I am in status 112 now, I guess this means that it will be going into production with in a week or so.

Week 12 = 3/21

You should be getting a build complete date via the 800 number in the next few days.

Have fun guys. Stick together through the build, shipping and pickup. It's a blast.
