Does after market exhaust system increase the fuel consumption

I am thinking about change my OEM exhaust to either Eisenmann - Performance or Akrapovic evolution.
Will changing to these two affect the fuel consumption. Which one do u perfer. Help me out!

I thought aftermarket exhaust + tune decrease the fuel consumption? But can someone correct me on this, could be wrong.

A free flowing exhaust will increase the efficiency of the engine which results in an increase in fuel mileage. The problem is that most of don't actually see the increase due to our foots getting suddenly heavier .

Really depends on how much of the extra factor you try to extract from your car.

No, seriously, from experience, the improved breathing and resulting increase in torque generally leads to an increase in gas mileage. There won't be much of a difference, maybe only 1 or 2 mpg, but you should notice an increase rather than a decrease.

Hope this helps,

Graeme

For most....well at least for me and my brother this simple formula has always held true. Now please try to follow along because this is VERY technical.
MPG is inversely proportional to the dB output of my exhaust! which is also related to As the dB output of my exhaust increases it is directly proportional to the weight of my right foot!
