problems with alpine 8000k
to all the techs in the house,
i just installed my alpine 8000k angel eyes, and for some reason the driver's side angel eye is yellower than the passenger's side, but with equal brightness. any idea why this is? also, the passenger's side angel eyes keep on turning on and off. i was completely freaked out. i used alpine's DIY vid: any response would be greatly appreciated |

They're definitely much brighter than the AiBs.

Odd... I watched the video, then the next day went out during lunch and installed them with no issues like this. Could be something wrong with a part on yours, but I am sure the guys at Alpine will look into it for ya...

hey mahmood, i got them for 180 shipped here. honestly they are soo bright. all my friends keep saying so... its almost as bright as the xenons.
so i drove the car today and the on and off disappeared, if not better. now its left with the issue of the uneven color. |

haha thanks..i just saw the video of the DIY, it looks really complicated. I think you should just re-check all the connections and go over the steps one more time. I don't know if anyone will be of any help if they haven't installed one of these on the m3 before. Let me know if you need a hand!

I have the same problem... I think the resistor on the yellowish side might not be performing optimally. I'm asking my workshop to fabricated another resistor to see it will affect the light performance. Will keep you updated.

Hehehe...iya. I've tried changing the resistor and still the lights is more yellowish in color compared to the opposite pair. I will try to post a photo of the light bouncing off a white wall, to show the obvious difference in the color temperature. I guess i'll have to make a complain to Alpine too.

You can spot the right side has more more bluish tint compared to the left. This pic is taken using my blackberry, probably will try to take more decent pictures using a camera to show more accurate representation.

I don't know about the difference in color besides the fact that once the lights warm up, the color (kelvin temp) changes as it warms up. If one side turns on after the other, the colors will come out different. As to the driver side shutting off, you just have to re-ground the wire (black one). It's fairly simple, just cut the black wire going to the friver side and find a new ground point. I did this for a friend of mine with a 335 and it's been perfect since.
Alex is an awesome guy with great customer service! As to my kit, I got the 3000k so ummm.... they're just yellowish to begin with.
