Brembo’s GT-R kit from IND Distribution!
Earlier this year, Brembo released their GT-R calipers to the public, and the kit went largely unnoticed by the M3 community.
Brembo has been an industry leader in braking and friction technology for nearly 50 years, and was the first in the performance car industry to bring true competition car technology to every day driven street cars. Brembo continues this tradition by creating perhaps their most impressive street braking system of all time- the GT R kit. Brembo’s new GT-R kit expands upon a standard Brembo big brake kit by applying technology that was until recently only available in motorsport. Billet aluminum one piece calipers, stainless steel piston inserts, and a nickel plating typically only seen in Formula 1 contribute to make these new calipers the best performing calipers available on the market today. The new billet aluminum GT-R caliper ensures greater caliper rigidity, while reducing weight by an additional 10% over the already lightweight mono block calipers! Please contact an IND representative for more information today.

The calipers are designed to function just like a standard GT kit, so they have regular street caliper maintenance intervals. There are no rebuilds every few track events like race calipers. The nickel plating finish is derived from Brembo's F1 technology and is hundreds of times more durable than a standard paint finish.

I believe reading about them being somewhere around 18k for a set.

The difference is all in the caliper.
Brembo's Gran Turismo (GT) kits already employ the highest quality, longest lasting, brake discs directly from their top level racing division. Combined with billet aluminum hats, and patented McLaren float hardware, you have a true 2pc. fully floating disc that remains noise free during practical use. These are the same rotors (just with different rotor hardware) as you will see track side at just about any professional racing event. The Brembo Gran Turismo "R" (GT-R) kits will include the new billet aluminum, nickel plated, monobloc calipers to that the system to the next level. The end result being a system that is equally competent on a weekend road trip, or from pit lane out onto the track for competitive racing...essentially a race bred system with subtle additions that allow nearly maintenance free performance for the life of the system. Simply replace pads and rotors as they wear (which also happen to have the best longevity of any after market braking option), and enjoy! Unlike competitors products where they may apply some additional weight savings techniques, and add a prettier finish to their standard caliper systems, these are truly purpose built performance calipers engineered to rival the performance of top level racing systems as seen in the likes of ALMS.
