Is this intake really worth the money? ok its a lot cheaper than one of these:

http://www.bmwblog.com/2010/02/22/te...intake-system/

http://www.rpm-arabia.com/store/grup...-intake-bmw-m3

http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html...ID=50-11662-BV

--> for me the Tecnocraft looks perfect, are there any dynos available??
Was it reviewed somewhere?

Looking forward to your repplies.

I like what I hear. Dynos please! If the stuff everyone is saying about this is true, I'll be all over this like a fat kid on cupcakes.

As long as this kit provides gains similar to Dinan's kit...the kit will sell like hotcakes...

Why do you think the AFE will make more gains? It uses a heat shield that doesn't adequately seal.

If you're worried about heat there are a number of things you could line the inside of the airbox with.

working on a dyno.. EAS shipped me the kit without the filter adapter tube... nothing is more annoying than taking apart something expecting to have a new part and then putting the stock part back on because there are parts missing..

Whoops, that was supposed to be outside, not inside. The point still stands, however.

What I've found is that sitting at a light, the IATs go through the roof with an open intake in the engine bay. This causes timing to be retarded. When you start moving, IAT usually comes down. If you immediately go WOT with larger IATs, you'll get less power until the IATs come down and the ECU stops applying the correction.

I have logged IAT in my car with the stock intake and anything over 20 mph, I see ambient as the IAT. I haven't seen data with my own car that corresponds to AFE's testing, especially not an improvement, since the car is already drawing in ambient temp air. I wave the brown flag on the AFE numbers, since obviously they are not going to be cooler than ambient. There simply isn't anywhere the stock box can get non ambient temp air once you are moving even slightly.

The AFE on my e46 M3 drew in hotter air than ambient until 40 mph. :/
