M3 vs. 335is - which is faster?
Because someone else would have done it eventually.
![]() mapezzul is hinting that there is some surprising performance in store for this new car. I am personally curious to see what BMW has cooked up. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=338908 Last edited by mkoesel; 01-10-2010 at 06:11 PM.. Reason: Realized I forgot the link :bonk: |

Yes. Output should presumably be same or very similar to the Z4 35is: 335 hp / 332 ft-lb.
I am more intrigued by what other changes BMW may have made to the car... |

335is will have the N54 still while the 335i will have the new N55.

Let alone your claim of 335 "smoking" the M3, you have been smoking some good stuff too. I would worry about that more. Prepare to get "flamed".

Yes definitely it is you south because I have no idea how it relates to his homeland? Since he used "335 smokes the M3", I just used the word "smokes" in a difference context to get the point across that no one in the right frame of mind and senses would say something ludicrous like that.

He thinks in terms of meters and kilometers I'm sure. Ultimately I believe he's just saying how effortless the 335i is around town. Most cities in Europe are limited to 50 km/h (31 mph) so who cares? People don't really speed in cities and villages anyway. They save that for the A roads.

A factory stock M3 will smoke a factory stock 335is.

The 335i is far superior above the M3V8! The 335i: more torque in the lower rev's, better flxibility: bye, bye M3! And, the 335i has better fuel economy to. So, it's clear who is the winner here: the 335i!

Fuel economy for both cars is negligible at wide open throttle.

Not agree. While the M3V8 tries to hit the 8000+ rpm (because below that, there is no torque and power), is the 335i already cruising at 5000 rev's, looking backwords waiting for that poor hard working M3V8 ...

It's an open door. We all know. I am the only one to say it out loud: the .35i is much faster than the M3. Lets face it. It's that simple. Here is just one video:
