The truth about VF.

I've heard many stories about VF messing up but I guess someone has finally stepped up to the plate and put the information out on the table.

I was waiting patiently for VF to bring out the kit for the E92 over a year ago, I kept on hearing "We are close to finishing" "We are working on tuning" and many excuses after...

Well, this explains why they can't finish their kit, their tuning isn't working out or is non existent. Hopefully they fix the issues they have before they release more kits to the public.

One more thing... I also find it very shady how they try talking my customer out of buying my GPower kit when he already put a deposit on my kit. They don't even have a kit done... Tisk, tisk... That's a low blow.

This is for anyone that want's to know more about VF, please feel free to read:

Make sure you pick a company that you trust with these motors, they are not a joke.

Happy Holidays Fellas.

If that's true that's a low blow for sure...

If I ever went SC I would go Gintani because I know for a fact they are legit and will be there if anything goes wrong.

That was one long read but necessary story for everyone to read. Somebody finally had to let it out
They barely just recently fixed their idling problems on their E46 M3 kits and there are tons of other blown e46 m3 problems.
How are they still around? Make a poll of how many have jumped ship to HPf and AA and you'll get tons of E46 owners in that poll with problems due to VF

Ever wonder why EAS' car has been in progress for months now and has been "tuning?" I just wish they would be honest and let people know what's going on.
Can you do it, or can't you it's not that hard a question. Figure out what you're capable of doing before you go and ruin customers cars and not pay for the consequences

Having dealt with VF Engineering and their head of "R&D" - Nick Saran, and had their stage I and II Supercharger on my E46 M3, I can state unequivocally that I would never again put anything from that company on my car . . . ever.

btw does anyone know if GIAC "actually" tunes for VF anymore?
I bet they're hired to come in for w/e reason and do something easy here and there like a VW kit and they just forget to tell the public they don't tune the BMW/Porsche kits

If anything they're just hurting a reputable tuners name

In the past year, there has been a quite a few projects to tackle (R8 supercharger completion, S54 emissions '09 update, etc). Mike's situation really has nothing to do with V8 S/C timelime, as we have a specific schedule intended for our M3 also. The project is evolving as scheduling permits on all sides (VF, GIAC and eas) with no intentions of being first or seeking bragging rights.

While I know only few details about MSpired's situation, it should be handled between VF and him in a satisfactory matter for both parties, and not turned into a forum matter.

My M3 will be back in my hands on Saturday, our journal thread will be brought back up to speed after some miles are put on the car.

The S54 emissions update I might understand as it was a pretty big case to deal with, as well as the idle problem

But the R8 stuff, I don't really buy at all. I don't expect to believe at all that they would front run completion for such a low volume car where as the owners, being older men (like my father), wouldn't care for an SC kit on an R8. So where as Nik would probably sell one R8 kit its more believable he would sell 10 E9x m3 kits
Its simple the M3 is a higher production car with a market known to somewhat accept FI. If I were VF and thinking sales I would try to do the best I could possibly do for the largest market available (E46?) than E92

Nothing against EAS at all. I've dealt with your company before and I have nothing but praises for EAS and its products quality
But when it comes to an otherwise unreliable tuner, thus far, it just comes off as if they are expecting to run the other part of their R&D on your car
I've said it before, its not how good a company is at maintaing perfection, its how they deal with the problems they come across

Well you are obviously doing business with VF so i get why your posts throughout the net are backing them. However if i were you i would just stay out of these threads, it just doesnt look right for you guys. VF has for a fact caused many blown motors now, people are speaking slowly. Mike hid this for a year!!! VF's business practices are the worst in the business, threatning to sue people if they talk, manipulating customers, lying etc...

Also they gave up on emissions because they couldn't do it. And they finally realized Alpha N is the better way so they decided to try to use Alpha N (after countless marketing campaigns against other tuners because they used it).

While the R8 market is small in comparison to the M3, there are a growing number of enthusiasts looking for this type of a solution. Since we are a BMW-specific business, our view is headed this direction only.

VF debuted their kit on their M3 back in April, not much R&D is left on their part. I will be more than happy to document my experiences in our journal.

This is what happens when you buy 3rd party software to run your FI kits. I have seen a few local VF kits over the years that did not run right and the owners always made excuses for it. If you can't develop software on your own and you have to buy it then you have no business building FI kits.

Gintani and ESS are looking better each day. They both have happy customers actually running their kits. The ESS kit looks so clean.

Oh great. Be warned that Taza is a huge AA fanboy and troll who has been permabanned from forums for his antics. Go look up his history on m3forum. It also makes me wonder why AA has summoned their pet troll to this forum when they aren't even part of this discussion.

I highly doubt AA told him to come in and chime in. It's a holiday, AA is closed today. He is a friend of the guy who the story is about.

Always people jumping to conclusions...

This thread wasn't posted to talk about other vendors/whos better/ etc. I just wanted people to know a little background information about VF. Nothing more, nothings less.

I visited VF not too long ago and spoke to Nik,very professional by the way, and he showed me around the facility and we talked about the kit for the e92 M3. He showed me their car with the kit and I was pretty impressed by what I saw.

There's always 3 sides of the story, his side, their side and the truth so why don't we just all wait til they release their kit. IMO
