Post Coat hanger in E92

Gents,

For the sake of being totally having too much time before my car arrives... I thought that I would ask a really basic question.

Is there a hook/place that I can hang my jacket on (I typically use a handle on the top of the window sill of my honda).

Any chance that someone can post some pics?

cheers,
A.

There's an OEM accessory hanger that install between the headrest and the seat back. Very nice and tidy, keeping coats and shirts from being wrinkled...

Yes, have a look at this picture: http://www.m3post.com/goodiesforyou/m3wall/P0035795.JPG

The hook is above the rear side window in the roofliner.

Best regards,
south

I have it and it's $20. Not bad.. Although it looks kind of funky from outside the car.

How does it work - does it sit over/attach to the driver's seat?

Hrmm the OEM behind the seat one sounds great! I like to roll with the windows down and it blows my coat off of the hanger on the headliner hanger. Does that happen with the behind the seat?

Technic,

Is this what you meant?

PN 51160009546

$44 @ Tischer

RealOEM also lists the following bracket (for the hanger):

PN 51160027751

Certainly would be a nice option to keep my jacket(s) hanging without obstructing my view.

This works great. I have had this on my E46 and now E90 M3. It keeps the jacket from getting wrinkled and does not blow off when the window is down. It also does not block your view like hanging stuff off the other hooks can. I highly recommend it.

I just hang stuff from the hooks, but than again you could just put it on the driver side grab handle

I always wondered why there is one, probably so you won't rub on the seat, but if they really were $$$ conscious I would've just cut that out (its useless!)

Anyone got a solution for the E93? The one for the back of the seat won't work, because the headrest onthe vert is different.

Unfortunately, no. I had a 335 convertible before the M3 and there is no hanger solution for the convertible for the exact reason you said; the headrest design is different.

This looks great!

On the other hand I see lots of thin plastic surfaces and I wonder if the whole thing will rattle or creak...

Why don't you just hang your jacket over the headrest and around the back of either seat? It works for all models, just like a coat hanger.

Isn't the headrest supported by two posts? If so, that hanger should fit as the part that fits between the posts is spring loaded. Maybe the vert doesn't have the posts.

The BMW piece is cheap. It's ok, but it will eventually break. There are other seatback solutions made of metal that seem to be much better. There are even ones that have a wooden hanger. I haven't tried either of these types, but I do know that the plastic BMW model will break.

No, not on the E93. There is a single mounting column for the headrest on the outside edge of each seat.
