Texas Mile

Has anyone run the Texas Mile in a e9x M3? I just signed up and I'm wondering what class other stock e9x M3 are running in. Also, any ideas on what my top speed will be at 1 mile? I'm guessing I won't hit the speed limiter but I honestly looking forward to finding out...

Cheers

I'm definitely going to do this, but I'm waiting to get the speed limiter removed with the Powerchip custom tune here in Houston in October before I sign up for it (I may wait until the Spring run). It might be close, but I'm pretty sure you can hit the limiter within a mile.

I'll be there, but I'll be in the 996TT

Are you on the waiting list?

You reminded me about the Powerchip thread. I need to check into that...

By all reports, this should be a great opportunity. Hopefully, it all comes together.

You and JC919 should both post a report of your experiences at Texas Mile as this is something I definitely want to do.

I'm 33 on the waiting list and I spoke with the people in registration and they said I will make the cut. Guess we will know how fast a stock M3 can do a standing mile.

Cheers

It's a runway. You have 1 mile to achieve the highest speed you can, and another 1/2 mile to come back down to earth.

I'm very curious as to what base classification they give the M3 in the USC category. Basic bolt-ons and slightly larger street tires shouldn't be enough to bump you up a class.

This sounds very exciting.

I'll look forward to joining the next time around, since I still need to get my final mods together.

Yep, I was guessing somewhere in the 155 area for a stock M3. I also want to hear how many BMWs were out there. My guess is that it would be mostly Vette, Porsche, and Supra guys out there.
