Service intervals?
Hi All! I've just ticked over 8,000km and the service indicator has come on. I thought the intervals were every 15,000km?
Many thanks. |

Check thru the iDrive to see what service you require. It could just one things like brake pads of oil change. It won't be a full service.
My service light is on because I need brake fluid change - two years since I picked up my car. The indicator has changed from yellow to red bcos it is due this month. AMK2912: it's a pity you couldn't dyno your car on Saturday @ Xspeed.

It's a shame they were running slow slow at XSpeed but I had to be somewhere else by 1pm. I may find somewhere closer and get it done - any recommendations NOR? BTW, was that your E92 with the German plates? |

Yes, it is. There are a couple of reputable places in Malaga. I will find out and let you know.
I left soon after you although I was not planning to dyno the car. I did it last year and was satisfied with the result. I think it read something between 315-320.

OT: Should Dyno results vary significantly between stock M3s?

Dyno figures vary on all production cars. Factors that cause it can be environmental (temperature, altitude, humidity), production tolerances and of course the dyno itself.

Race Torque has a wheel dyno in Wangara.
All Star garage - hub dyno in Malaga. Tenagah motorsport - wheel dyno wangara. Thats about as far as I know. I would dyno the car but it won't arrive for another 1 - 2 weeks. |

Andre: May be we can go together. I don't mind doing it again on a different dyno. Then I can compare the figures. What do you think?

Wheel dynos will read lesser because the wheels stay on. Amongst the other hub dynos I've used, ASG reads the highest as well. |

It is actually 25k between service intervals. I am surprised anyone has indicators this early (amk).
Perhaps later model cars have a reduced interval, like the 135i later models. My M is a Jan08 Build and is as such so who knows with the later cars. The thing that does P!!ss me off though is that BMW (the dealer) won't touch the car, oil change etc. till the indicators say it is due. I have the corporate programme with BMW which offers "2 year free servicing", RUBBISH, you get nothing unless the indicator comes on at ~25k (this varies if you drive it harder apparently ) |
