if there is one shop that I would not worry about using the "proper" materials for their projects, I would have to say that would be IND. I wish I was more local to these guys, because ALL the projects come out incredible!

They built a special facility to install the roofs for the M3's and M6's, I know that.

Either way, IND has done this several times on E46's. I'm confident in their abilities. Can't wait to see it on the car!

No doubt that IND does excellent quality work.

BMW has their own carbon fiber/plastic composites manufacturing plant.

BMW structural engineers tested and rejected a number of 2-part adhesives in the development of the E46 M3 CSL carbon fiber roof.

There are only a handful of shop in the United states that have done this CF roof mod before. Among the shops that have done the carbon fiber roof swaps, only 2 actually bothered to acquire the genuine adhesive used in BMW's Regensburg factory. That's the only reason why I asked.

BTW: The factory OE adhesive is made by Valvoline. (yes, THAT Valvoline)

This doesn't suprise me as MOST petrolium companies have MANY sub-division companies in the plastics, chemical, adhesive & paint markets.

As for the CF roof...if the E9x CF aftermarket roof is designed similar as the E46 Vorsteiner CF roof I had installed on my E46 M3coupe, there shouldn't be any worry, especially when using OEM roof adhesive. Most don't realize but the CF roof also gets bolted down at the locations where the roof rack can be installed...this helps to make sure if the roof adhesive isn't properly cured, the roof isn't gonna go flying off when your driving!
